What about the cop he killed in the shootout?JohnStOnge wrote:If it was a "pro life" motivation I have two issues with it. First, he did it in way that resulted in at least one person who had nothing to do with Planned Parenthood being killed. Second, it's bad public relations. When you look at the big picture it helps the pro abortion cause.
But I do not view the basic act of killing an abortion provider as morally wrong. Like if someone picks off an "abortion doctor." To me it's like if you see someone about to lop off a 2 year old's head with a machete so you pick them off with a rifle. You stop them from killing that innocent. That fact that we have an immoral law that sanctions killing innocents doesn't change the moral equation.
But, again, if you look at the big picture it's not a good thing to do because it's just going to generate sympathy for those engaged in the slaughter of innocents. It won't save any lives because another abortion doctor will just step up to slaughter the innocents that would've been slaughtered by the first one. And it'll help the "slaughter the innocents" cause politically.

BTW not even MSNBC has called this a pro-life motivated shooting yet. It might be, but you're jumping the shark, Felchy.

Thanks for providing a nice place to hide in plane sight for the dangerously insane Christians
"In the United States since 1990 there have been 41 bombings and 173 arson's and 655 such terror threats made against abortion providers..."

You'll need to get extra busy defending that Christian American behavior
You might as well line up with John St.Satan on this one - Who would Jesus murder..?
What a crock of shit.JoltinJoe wrote:This is a despicable crime, but it isn't terrorism.
Nothing about this act terrorizes me.
Terrorists intend to incite mass fear within the population at large by acts of violence that randomly strike people as they go about their daily lives. Terrorists send the message that it could have been you, and you might be next.
This was a targeted act of political and social violence.

The 24/7 news cycle gave this story the attention it merited and has already moved on.
What happened in Paris is still dominating the news coverage.
Get it?
Even the media get the difference between this event and terrorism.
Only people who think like you do (if one can call that "thinking") believe this is terrorism.
It's terrorism.JoltinJoe wrote:![]()

The cop is who I was taking about when I said I had two issues with what this person did then said, "First, he did it in way that resulted in at least one person who had nothing to do with Planned Parenthood being killed."kalm wrote:What about the cop he killed in the shootout?
Just some collateral damage in your war?
I don't know if what happened in this case meets any of those definitions or not. It could be that there's something I haven't heard yet but all those definitions include the condition that it's an act intended to influence the actions of government or coerce the civilian population. It's terrorism.

I haven't heard anything about him having any motivation like that.
Unless you work at an abortion clinic you're probably safe. Safe = NOT terrorized. Not terrorized = NOT terrorism.kalm wrote:What a crock of shit.JoltinJoe wrote:This is a despicable crime, but it isn't terrorism.

You should probably back away from commenting on these situations. It makes you look dumb.
Look, I get the "white Christian extremist terrorism" has political value -- but under the the definition of "domestic terrorism" within that statute, this act doesn't fit.93henfan wrote:It's terrorism.JoltinJoe wrote:![]()

The quote applies nicely in today's context to the overwhelming role of government in our lives. You can't ask government to ensure every aspect of your well being without accepting "chains." Voltaire may have been thinking religion. That Voltaire quote in your signature
is about idiotic religious people - you know that (Right..?)
People like your family who refuse to use logic and reason in the 21st century
