Re: Big Ten Uncancels football, starting October 24th

A league that can't even count whomps. I'm waiting for the REAL football conference to uncancel the season. Give me the Big Sky any day of the week!

Re: Two Near Scalps in Week 2

Two more near scalps that SHOULD have come to fruition: UTSA 24, SFA 10 UTEP 17, Abilene Christian 13 Also, Campbell should have had a shot against former Big South foe Coastal Carolina (43-21), but that one wasn't anywhere near as much a "should have got it done" as those other two. The Citadel bit...

Two Near Scalps in Week 2

I thought we had one with AR State, but apparently they moved up to FBS awhile back, and are in the bogus Sun Belt. But Campbell nearly beat recent move-up GA Southern, losing 27-26. And Texas Tech barely beat recent D-II call-up Houston Baptist 35-33. I guess the days of referring to these programs...

Re: NFL 2020 Season

There have been questions on whether or not ARI at SF will go today, with the possibility of being postponed or moved due to bad air quality because of the nearby wildfires. SH's brilliant (?) proposal: Move the game to Kezar Stadium. Yes, the very first home of the 49ers still exists. It's been con...

#11 Central Arkansas beat #10 Austin Peay 24-17 in the FCS Kickoff event at Montgomery, AL last night before an estimated 2K crowd, properly social distanced and wearing masks (allegedly). The Governors dropped a bomb on the Bears on the opening play from scrimmage with a 75-yard run for a touchdown...

Re: Big Sky pauses season

Postponed means cancelled. The problem now is they have all basically boxed themselves in the "can't play until there is a vaccine" corner as literally nothing has changed wrt to the China Virus since April, and nothing will change until there is a vaccine (if ever). The Manure Pile just announced ...

Re: Big Sky pauses season

This came out in parts. First, all we saw (on the CBS13 news in Sac, anyway) was that the Big Sky had flat-out cancelled the season. About a day or so later, that was amended so that it had been pushed back to the spring, something I think we were all expecting, anyway. But, as 13 quoted Sac HC Troy...

Re: Time to tell Athletes to Take it or Leave it

This is one reason why I don't like the P5. They've practically got a union going right now. That's not right for college athletics. Give me the Big Sky any day of the week....

I missed seeing Koepka "fold up," as AZ said. I started watching my new Voltron DVDs. But I DID see Bryson DeChambeau "fold up" just before I did. Surprised me to some degree.

Re: Trump Loses Major (?) Endorsement

Kanye West, who had formerly supported President Trump, has announced his won candidacy for the position, and has already claimed a big endorsement in Elon Musk. IMO, this is way too late in the ball game to work, but it COULD siphon off some of Trump's support.... https://sanfrancisco.cbslocal.com...

Re: 2020 General Election

Just saw a news report that Kanye West is going to run for President this year. Apparently he has the backing of Elon Musk. Will he take votes away from Trump or Biden? I would say not enough to worry about, but I've seen Jesse Ventura become a governor and Donny Trump elected president. And Kane i...

Re: Kane Votes Against Mask Measure

There's a HUGE difference between predetermined outcomes and "fake," JSO. If you think professional wrestling is "fake," just ask Owen Hart. Oh, that's right, you CAN'T. He's dead because of a ring accident. Besides, if anyone had ever slapped a figure four on you or put you in a pile driver (partic...

Kane Votes Against Mask Measure

Kane is mayor of Knox County, TN. He was the lone "nay" vote on a health department measure to mandate masks. Whatever your stance on the issue, the fact that Kane of all people voted against it is pretty funny.... https://www.yahoo.com/sports/kane-glenn-jacobs-wwe-mask-ordinance-knox-county-0032534...

Pro sports have already started. Team sports included. Golf and auto racing are competing (albeit without fans), and the NWSL had its first nationally televised game this past weekend. (North Carolina played dirty during their 2-1 victory over Portland....)

And he’s headed to UW. Fan reaction seems to be split and uninformed, ranging from a blessing to the QB room to WTF are they doing?!? The latter seems to be stereotypical of elitist P5 fans who mistakenly believe that if you're not P5, you're D-II. Delusional. https://www.facebook.com/UWHuskyFootba...

Re: Sac QB Kevin Thomson in the Transfer Portal

And he’s headed to UW. Fan reaction seems to be a mixed bag, ranging from a blessing to the QB room, to fear and anger that they've done this. I suspect that the latter reaction seems to be related to the typical P5 attitude that if you're not P5, you're really D-II. Bogus, but that's how many P5 f...

So, after Sunday's games, Straily is sitting fourth in the league with a 2.23 ERA and is one strikeout off the league lead with 43. He's STILL 1-2 because he keeps getting lifted early. Case in point: this past Saturday, Straily was pitching a shutout with six strikeouts after seven innings, yet was...
