Re: JMU Sells Out Two Games
Richmond is only 25% in-state as well. And before anyone jumps on UR for low attendance, the opening game last season saw 2,200 students attend out of a total of 3,000. And of those 3,000 maybe three to four hundred were actually abroad for the semester. Students averaged about 1.200 a game last sea...

Re: Best FCS Stadium Now In Bozeman, MT?
We are talking about which STADIUM is best, not who has the best crowd / atmosphere. While Wash Griz is impressive, nothing tops Princeton Stadium at this level: stadium on all four sides, double decked on three sides, great sense of enclosure, and just beautiful modern architecture.

Re: UR's Robins Stadium "expanding"?
Of course if I had my druthers, UR would build a new track / field / soccer stadium over by the President's house, and then lose the track, lower the field and expand to 14K our so... Well I can always dream.

Re: UR's Robins Stadium "expanding"?
Unfortunately no this is not an expansion. Previously there were 1600 seats in one endzone, and 0 in the other. They are now switching 1200 of the seats to the other side for the students, and keeping 400 under the scoreboard. As it has been decided that with only 2800 undergrads, the students only ...

Re: NDSU 10,000+ season tickets..how bout you?
It looks like the Spiders are up about 600 season tickets over last year to 4,600. Last year they capped sales at 4,000, as they were not completely sure how many the students would take, and how many might be needed for visitors and general university use.

Well does VU have an athletic endowment? Richmond's Athletic Department has a $150M Endowment, which they tend to draw 5% a year off of, in order to balance the budget and pay majority of the athletic scholarships.

Re: JMU @ UNC 9/3 next season now apparently not happening
As per my above post, I think JMU will try to do everything to avoid having an open date and the "bye" week on 9/3, thereby having to play 11 straight weeks with no bye like happened last yr. Assuming this, I took a look at I-A schedules on fbschedules.com. This is what I've gathered as f...

Re: Another FCS program in the making?
City Stadium is old old old. Built in 1929, it seats about 22,000 people. The neighborhood is lower income, but certainly not ghetto. I would think VCU would have to spend a fair amount to fix it up, if the City would sell the stadium to them, which they never seemed to offer to do for UR. http://fo...

Re: CS Poll results - Week 8
How is UMass ranked 21? They have lost their last two, and yet are still ranked abveor RIchmond, who beat them in Amherst two weeks ago, and seem to be improving, while the Minutemen are collapsing. Spiders losses are at UVA, to Delaware, and at a tough UNH team, where UR's QB was the punter, and he...

Re: Villanova football invited to Big East
Actually, with the ACC, I think that VU's academic reputation would really help them to join. I could see a northern division of BC, UConn, Syracuse, VIllanova, Maryland, Virginia, VaTech and WVU. Then the south is FSU, Miami, Clemson, GTech, UNC, NCSU, Duke, and Wake.

Re: #7 Delaware @ #5 Richmond Game Thread
This will be an interesting game to see which of these two teams is an actual contender for the CAA crown. Has UR done enough to reload, or has UD rebuilt themselves back into the perennial contender that we are used to. How will UD react to playing on the road after three laughers at the Tub. Wish ...

Re: Elon/Richmond
So only 6,000 of your 17,000 students showed up? That is sort of a pathetic percentage. 2,200 of Richmond's 2,800 students were at the game, close to 80%. Your school and stadium are much bigger than ours, we get it. Who cares?

So the Phoenix come up to Richmond for the second straight year, as the two teams meet for the third straight season. Can UR continue their winning ways versus Elon? The Spiders lost more this off season, but will be flying high opening their new on campus stadium. This is a nice early season CAA-So...

My thoughts are that you are an idiot that never has anything nice to say about UR, either here, or especialy on the RTD site. Go back to the hole you came out of. I think it is just as likely that RIchmond goes 11-0 as it is 0-11.

Re: Disappointed Richmond Spider fans
That average crowd from last year was skewed to a degree from the final game against W&M. While both teams came in with 9-1 records, it was also the "final" regular season game for UR at City Stadium and was billed as such. Therefore 18K came out for that game. While no fans are partic...

Re: Just plain hate! Richmond vs JMU
The two largest home crowds in the history of Richmond football came against W&M, not JMU or Delaware. Why all this fuss over their stadium when your crowds coming to Richmond aren't that big? I believe also in the last 35 or so years, there has been at least three VMI-UR games with attendance ...

I would think the JMU crowd from a few years ago with over 16K in attendance would be in the top 20. No UD crowd comes close to that list. For a nice view of how the field looks from the east stands, (good site lines I think, track and all) here you go. http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc4/hs...
