Re: Georgia Southern @ Old Dominion
This one should be fun because it's the ultimate contrast in styles... All things being equal, I'd rather be the team that traditionally runs the ball well than throws the ball well. I'm sure we've all heard the old saying about passing: "When you pass it, three things can happen, and two of t...

Re: FCS Sightings
Saw two in the last week (although only one really counts...) Was in the grocery store and saw an "ETSU Football: Undefeated Since 2003" shirt - that really doesn't count since ETSU stuff is not that uncommon since I live 30 minutes away. But, I was in a restaurant today and saw an Idaho S...

Re: Biggest Discrepancy In Conference Facilities
How's this for a topic that can be filed under "what we think about when we're not in the playoffs": What two schools in your conference have the biggest discrepancy in facilities? The rumblings about the addition of Monmouth to the CAA got me thinking about how wide the divide between co...

Re: Biggest Discrepancy In Conference Facilities
I think either UNH or URI would be bottom of the CAA now. Albany was well on our way, but Bob Ford Field is going up nicely and ahead of schedule! And before you ask, I have no idea what the blue stuff is they sprayed on the dirt today. I hope they don't think they're going to grow grass in the mid...

Re: Georgia Southern @ Old Dominion
"When you pass it, three things can happen, and two of those are bad." I don't know what female came up with that saying, but there are clearly more than three things that can happen. Pass interference is a big factor in the passing game. And defensive pass interference/holding happens a ...

Re: Week 10 CAA Prediction Thread
I'm not necessarily going to argue with you because our defense is moving in the wrong direction so I don't think 27 from Maine is out of the question, but W&M had two overtimes to score their 26 and Georgia St. scored two fourth quarter TDs when the D was lazy and GSU took advantage of a 60 ya...

Re: Week 10 CAA Prediction Thread
You're right in that JMU may only score 17 on Maine. JMU's offense will be minus 3-5 starters, including possibly DQ. You're wrong if you think Maine's #8 in Total Offense/#9 in scoring offense is going to score 27 on the #2 in Total Defense/#1 in scoring defense in the CAA. JMU is actually pretty ...

Re: Loss of institutional control at Montana
So I'm not on here a lot anymore, but this is wacky. This doesn't even come close to being comparable to Penn State/Sandusky, and the article shows that on its face..."the handling of allegations of a gang rape by several football players apparently led to the firing of the head football coach ...

Well, they are the reigning OVC champion and return 16 starters, plus they added a big weapon at WR in Da'Rick Rogers. I don't think Tenn. Tech is as far off in the Top 25 as some of the other teams in there.

Thorpe Granted 6th Year?
So I haven't seen this posted anywhere and can't find a story, but I had lunch with an athletics department person on Friday and he said Thorpe had been granted his sixth year.
I normally have no inside information and I'm definitely not posting this as fact, but has anybody else heard that?

JMU got another UMD transfer committment. RB Jeremiah Wilson ... who was recruited as a CB and was the #69 CB coming out of highschool. JMU is already STACKED at RB (Scott, Anderson will be Juniors, Latney will be a soph, Highly recruited Dejor Simmons will be a r-fr, and the aformentioned Beddell)...

Re: Liberty hires Turner Gill
If I'm a Liberty fan I'm ecstatic, but from an outsiders view, wow did Gill experience a freefall, from one of the hottest FBS coaches to a low-FCS program. I would be excited if I were a Liberty fan too, but other than the name and one great season at Buffalo ("great" being defined as 8-...
