Re: Villanova @ SFA
Nova's kicker must be really bad if you gave SFA the advantage in kicking. Our kicker is horrible. I hope it doesn't come down to a field goal for SFA to win because if it does then there is about a 75% chance SFA won't be moving on. Should be a good game though.

Re: What do yall think of the playoff bracket?
I don't think anyone has an easy way to the championship game. Every game is going to be hard fought and each team is playing to play for the next week. There is a reason why these 20 teams are playing for the championship. Anything can happen these next couple of weeks especially if a team gets hot...

Re: What do yall think of the playoff bracket?
When I first saw the brackets I was pissed and thought SFA got screwed but the more I thought about it I'm fine with the bracket. What better way to prove SFA belongs than having to beat the defending champ and setting up a possible game with the number one seed in the tournament. To be the best you...

Lamar@ NDSU - NDSU Nicholls @ McNeese - McNeese (unless they kill themselves with penalites again but I think that only happens when they play SFA) SAM @ NWS - Going with NWS SLU @ UCA - SLU TXST @ SFA -SFA will be a lot closer than people think especially since TXST has had our number for the past ...

Re: QUESTION???
ANSWER! The SLC will be in and out of the playoffs before you can finish a good bottle of Jack Daniels. SFA may be ranked high but I'm afraid they, again, will be exposed when they go up against a good, all-around team. I don't know Catmom. SFA people love their alcohol and I know a couple that cou...

Re: Week 8 SLC
2PM SFA vs. SHSU - Should be a good game with good crowd. Lots of energy as the Battle of The Piney Woods moves to Reliant Stadium. SAM is doing a lot better than most expected but I think an experienced SFA team will pull this out. 35-21. 3PM NSU @ TxState Texas State will be hungry for a win and w...

Re: neutral site games
I think the SFA/SAM game is being played in Houston to bring more exposure to both schools and the conference. SFA/SAM both have a large alumni base in Houston (SAM more than SFA but there's still a lot down there) and both schools recruit a lot from the area (both athletic and academic). This is th...

Re: SLC week 7 - Pick 'em
SLU @ SAM - SLU (shouldn't it be SELA instead of SLU. Isn't SLU a private university in Missouri.) Actually, our preference is to not use acronyms period, but if necessary, we prefer SLU over SELU, SELA, etc...the only reason our website is "selu.edu" is because slu.edu and southeastern.e...

Re: SLC week 7 - Pick 'em
Maybe SFA's Oline should go coach the Dallas Cowboy Oline to teach them how not to get called for holding. But seriously non calls happen all the time. Part of the game. There are more important things to worry about than to sit here and argue on a board about non calls. I really have no clue what b...

Re: The worst college football stadium?
I have to say Nicholls is the worst one I've been to. Got stuck in the elevator in the press box twice the one time I visited. UC-Davis stadium back in 04(might have the date wrong on that) was pretty bad but I think they were just using it until they built their new one.

Re: Should SFA try for FBS?
We don't have the fan base. We don't have the money. If SFA moved up they would just be another FIU, ULL, ULM etc.AxeEmJacks wrote:Why not us? I'm not looking for an argument, I just want the facts of what's holding us back

damn clenz, yes i know FCS is Division I. Sorry I misworded what I said. I know the FCS is division I. Just saying that FCS is a different level of division I since it sounded like the OP didn't know what he was talking about.

Re: Should SFA try for FCS?
Hey, watching this game, if you guys put SFA in the top 5 then we have a big problem in the FCS. Also, TXST needs to drop into the low teens, if anything, cause we laid a major egg today. So I guess top five teams aren't allowed to have a bad game on the road and against a team that has always been...

Re: Should SFA try for FCS?
We've been pretty dominant in most sports the past few years. IF we have another good year, would it make sense to upgrade Homer Bryce and should we put money into trying for an FCS bid? Its looking like we have the academics, we have the teams, what else, other than the stadium, would it take to m...

I really figured that this thread would be happening this week. I figure that this will tell who is ready to be for real or not. I hate that we are playing in the hole this week scares the hell out of me actually. I figure T state will throw down a win, sam will win, lamar big win, and upset of the...

Re: SFA vs McNeese St Who Wins???
hell yeah I'm worried. Its conference. Records and ranking don't matter. Plus its McNeese down in the Hole. We've won there what three times and none in the last 10 years. Hell yeah I'm worried. I think it will be close like last year and SFA will find some way to pull out a victory.

Re: WAC Visit to TXST Could be 3 Weeks away
I have a question for Catmom, other Texas State fans and any board member that wants to chime in. Do you truly believe that moving up in football is a good move for Texas State? The only reason I ask is because I recently had a conversation or tried to with a Texas State student who thinks this is a...

Re: SLC week 6 - Pick 'em
SFA @ McNeese Will be a good game. SFA doesn't play too well down in Lake Charles and even though some of the McNeese fans say they are having a down year and SFA is going to roll over them I think SFA pulls out a close one 35-31. We are just a small speed bump on SFA's way to a conference champion...

Langston (NAIA) @ Lamar - After two disappointing weeks Lamar takes this one. atleast they should. if they don't then I don't know what else to say. Northwestern St @ UCA - I'm going to say UCA wins big in this one. SAM @ Nicholls I'm going with Nicholls with the upset. SFA @ McNeese Will be a good ...

Re: Southland Conference Expansion...Time to Consider Option
It wasn't too long ago when the Southland Conference only had 6 teams playing football. To me personally it gave the schools a better chance to play higher ranked FCS teams. If the Southland does lose Texas State and Lamar to the FBS I don't think the Southland will be scrambling to get new teams in...
