Re: Southern Utah @ Sam Houston
Knew it was a bad matchup for SUU. They were too dependent on defense all year and struggle to score.

Re: Montana "thing"
Well I guess I can't blame you for wanting to play them instead of us. :coffee: Frankly, I don't care which teams come to Fargo. They are going to have a tough time winning. I cannot wait to see if the Griz make it to Fargo. The excuses will be fun to read when they lose. No excuses from this guy i...

Re: Montana "thing"
Montana rightfully earned their spot. NAU should have played 12 games. If they were 10-2id be a different story. NAU also didn't face EWU. Yep. NAU had by far the easiest schedule to GET to 9-2 of any of the 4 teams in from the BSC. I don't buy this, none of the 4 BSC playoff teams played all the o...

Re: Montana "thing"
Kalm, my question is do you really know anything about Coastal? Are you sure that UM has the easier path? I also know that EWU is hanging their hat on sneaking up on OSU, and it was a great win, but have they really beaten anyone else? No BSC team has that great of a resume. We beat two playoff tea...

Re: Montana "thing"
EWU, I actually think NAU did get a raw deal. My only conclusion is that NAU did themselves no favor by only playing an 11 game schedule, which may have been big help for Montana when determining the GPI and SRS values. As for the Coastal Carolina/Bethune Cookman and NAU/SDSU argument, how else can...

Re: Montana "thing"
Different argument. I don't recall anyone saying the Griz have an easier path. Just an easier round of 16 matchup. The easier path goes to the team that finished 8-0 in conference and actually beat more than one team with a winning a record (5 to be exact) beat two out of three playoff teams, and 1...

Re: Montana "thing"
Actually, the SRS is going to have even more control next season. Ok. So I ask again: Can you provide a more compelling reason for what I outlined above other than the SRS? EWU, I actually think NAU did get a raw deal. My only conclusion is that NAU did themselves no favor by only playing an 11 gam...

Re: Montana "thing"
    U MAD, BRO? ;) Not at all, but when the best argument I have heard is the SRS (computer models), it kind of proves my point. The SRS is obviously a deeply flawed system and I doubt it'll be around that much longer. Actually, the SRS is going to have even more control next se...

Re: Montana "thing"
You guys are apparently unbeatable, so why do you give a **** how tough your oppenents are? And saying that we have an easy path being the 8th seed when that entails traveling to Fargo is almost too stupid to even address. :dunce: Different argument. I don't recall anyone saying the Griz have an ea...

Re: Why doesn't Montana/Eastern Washington move to FBS?
What would be the positive for either school? One of the big things is money, neither school has the financial resources to consider a move to FBS.

Re: Montana "thing"
Montana had a better GPI, SRS, SOS and overall record than Northern Arizona. (NAU had two byes and didn't have to play the conference champions.) The only advantage NAU had was the head-to-head. By your logic, MSU should have gotten in over NAU and UC Davis should have gotten in over SUU since they...

Re: Montana "thing"
I wish people would quit using the "MSU should get in over NAU" argument when looking to discount the NAU win over the Griz. They are trying to compare apples to oranges. One situation is comparing a 10-2 team with a 9-2 team for a seed, the other is comparing a 9-2 team with a 7-5 team no...

Re: Big Sky is King
The SoCon went something like 2-7 head to head with the Big South this year. And CO-SoCon champ Furman, with a 7-5 record, went 1-2 head to head with the Big South- losing to 1st place Coastal, 4th place Garnder Webb, and needing a late 1 point win to beat 5th place Presbyterian. 7-5 Furman would'v...

bucs, maybe you should bone up on the selection process. Furman and Lafayette were both AQ. If you want to complain about Liberty not making it, maybe you should compare them the the actual other at-large teams Just a thought

Re: SRS by NCAA standards
You don't think the computer rankings are useful at all? What would you have the committee use to gauge SOS? To compare teams that don't play each other? Thought the entire point of their argument was that with so few games between conferences the computer generated SOS was not a true gauge of stre...

Re: Would Montana Be Out If...
If Montana loses and Southern Utah wins, it could set up a first round match-up between the two. Teams from the same conference are not matched-up in the first round - or if it's a seeded team, the first game that teams plays. slostang hit the nail on the head. Poly does not play Montana, Montana St., or EWU in conference play. This is a huge advantage for them in the Conference Title race.

The Bobcats are one of those teams that did not seem to get any better during the season. I actually think that they regressed and DM certainly did not take the step forward most Cat fans would have hoped for.
