Re: Football Map
Was that a tiny Blue Hen in the corner, hiding behind Philadelphia? And I know plenty of loggers in northern Maine who cheer like mad for BC. NE should be divided among Harvard, Yale, UMass, UNH, Maine and BC. I guess Dartmouth for VT. Yep, there's no way in Hades that the Chestnut Hil...

Re: How many CAA teams will survive next week?
It's going to be really tough. 4 out of 5 will be road dogs...but with a ****-load of travel for everyone. ODU has the shortest trip at 500 miles. I went with 2. Towson, plus law of averages says one of the other teams makes it, but I have no idea who that might be...probably UNH. I still contend t...

Re: America East - no football, but 4 playoff teams
Personally, I'd want my football conference to have 8-9 members who were all sports members. I can't see leaving an established league for a start-up with its existence dependent on affiliates. Now, if you can get CCSU, Monmouth, Delaware State and one or two more to come on board for all sports th...

Re: CAA Meetings - Who Stays, Who Goes......
For readability I deleted the original comments. They can be viewed by looking back a couple of posts. I'm talking about UNH's higher coaching salaries, bigger support staff, more expensive athletic scholarships........all without much private money or state funding.........THAT is what I am talkin...

Re: CAA Meetings - Who Stays, Who Goes......
Your $100K every 3 years is nothing compared to our $300K that we'll have to spend EVERY year to go play 4 times a year in the soggy craptastic South! Please, please, PLEASE dump us so that we can save some $$$! Don't expect UNH to stick around though........they are beleeding even MORE money than ...

Re: YSU to the CAA???
Actually, one would think the Ohio Valley Conference would feature a school from the actual state of Ohio, wouldn't one? I would consider Youngstown more in the Great Lakes than the Ohio Valley... That is just me. I have never heard anyone ever in Youngstown, Akron, or Cleveland identify themselves...

Re: UMASS goes to the MAC...
YSU makes sense in the colonial, especially when Maine and/or UNH leave the conference. Maine/UNH needs another northeast regional team added for them to stay in the CAA. (Stonybrook/Albany) UNH seems more committed to football than Maine, but I'm not sure how long they could hold out if they had t...

Re: UMASS goes to the MAC...
Have you read anything other than the headlines??? Starting in 2012, we will play at Gillette Stadium, home of the N.E Patriots, which is in the heart of Alumni country... Last year, we drew 30,000 plus to a game at the Razor...which is in eastern Massachusetts, where the vast majority of our alumn...

Re: Best All Time FCS QB
When I saw the list and read that the criteria was their play in college, my first reaction was why is Flacco on there instead of Santos? Ricky played four years, won the Payton Award, UNH went 2-0 in the head-to-head match-ups (acknowledging that Toman finished off the go ahead TD and the game in t...

Sat Oct. 22 vs. Massachusetts @ Gillette Stadium * Foxboro, Mass. | Colonial Clash II That's #1 for me too, had a great time last year even with all the traffic on US 1. Looking forward to seeing the new stadium in Richmond too as well as adding another FCS venue attended in Goodman Stadium (Lehigh...

Re: SHOULD COLLEGE FB PLAYERS GET PAID (STIPEND)/PROFIT SHAR
I've always felt that we'd be better off if football and basketball were structured like baseball and ice hockey. That is, when a kid graduates from HS and decides he wants to commit himself to making the NHL or MLB, he has the option of signing with the pros and starting a career in the minor leagu...

Good to see you too Cobble and the Newport Storm helped ease my sorrow! Great to meet Pebble and look forward to doing it again in 2012!!! And in 2011 in Durham of course! Hope this win gets your administration to change their minds about the NEC. I won't look back at this game in the future with as...

Re: CAA Scrimmage/Practice Notes
For the record, UNH played in snow at Maine in the season ending game of 2008 and to a certain extent during the 2005 playoff game vs. Colgate. That Maine game had a snow covered field for the duration of the game. I'm guessing it was a drier snow than the slop I recall enduring at Villanova, but Yo...
