I think it could. There are plenty of eastern teams interested in FBS to be potential candidates.Sly Fox wrote:What if the WAC had an eastern division ... would that make an all-sports entry viable? The WAC has to be desperate enough to make this happen.

Re: Jax State going FBS...
Yes, football only.
I suppose the A-Sun as I doubt the OVC would want to keep us for other sports. Although they just added SIU-E who has no football program.

Re: Jax State going FBS...
That is true, we do need an invite, but the resolution said to "explore all opportunities", and I would imagine the WAC would be interested in any school, anywhere, looking to move to FBS at this time for a short term, mutually beneficial partnership.

As a UAB alum, the only way that will happen is if the C-USA falls apart. But yes, Wright Waters would love to have them (along with Jax State after we finish our facility upgrades).T-Dog wrote:I've also heard UAB joining the Sun Belt isn't out the realm of possibility.

Jax State @ Kentucky 10/22.
We've got them between LSU and Miss St. I think we have a decent chance.

Re: IF Auburn forfeits all games, does Chatty get the win?
There are fates worse than death. From what I have read this morning, Auburn's football program may not be killed because of the effect it would have on other SEC schools, but would be rendered a vegetable (50+ schollie reductions for 4 years) http://www.tigerdroppings.com/rant/messagetopic....

Re: IF Auburn forfeits all games, does Chatty get the win?
The Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS), the regional accrediting agency, placed the university on probation. The agency cited the micromanagement by Lowder and the board of trustees, saying Auburn failed to prove that the university president has “ultimate control over the athletic...

They are off probation now, but what is currently rumored to be going on is far worse than what they were placed on probation for. Alabama's Gov Elect is a Dermatologist from Tuscaloosa who held his election night party at the Bryant Denny Stadium. He is a big Bammer. If this stuff is true, I think ...

Most certainly. I could even see it causing the state to reconsider Auburn's roll in the state's college system.nwFL Griz wrote: This is sounding like death penalty type stuff, isn't it?

Re: IF Auburn forfeits all games, does Chatty get the win?
If only half of the rumors that are going around are true, this will be the biggest scandal in the HISTORY of college sports by far. Not only could all of Auburn's wins this season be wiped away, Auburn's accreditation from the SACS could be wiped away, causing its SEC and NCAA memberships to get w...

Re: IF Auburn forfeits all games, does Chatty get the win?
It's like the game never happened for Auburn as far as the record books are concerned. For Chattanooga, it stays a loss. True, but that is no reason to hope that it doesn't happen anyway. If only half of the rumors that are going around are true, this will be the biggest scandal in the HISTO...

Maybe not, but with those team with those records it would be incredibly easy for the ncaa to do it and defend it.

Re: Who will be the five playoff seeds II
Assuming all these teams win this weekend
#1 Appy 10-1(29,499 avg attendance)
#2 Delaware 10-1(20,317)
#3 Jax State 10-1(18,432)
#4 Montana State 9-2(14,302)
#5 EWU 9-2 (7,920) or W&M 8-3 (11,047)
The most likely loss is probably ASU, but even at 9-2, they would still be a #2, maybe #3 seed.

Re: Big East expansion intent now official
Maybe East Carolina could ask their students to convert to Catholicism so they could get into the Big East. That should pacify the BE members. Maybe put a Touchdown Jesus statue at their stadium and have Father O'Donnell as President. After all, someone said they would "sell their souls" ...
