Re: SORRY OLD DOMINION U.. EASTERN's CHEERLEADERS ARE WAY HO
Eh, these threads are fun, but who cares who has hotter cheerleaders? I think there are some pretty attractive cheerleaders on the JMU squad, but walking around campus I see dozens who are just as hot if not hotter than the cheerleaders on the squad. I've always felt, if you need to have a pissing c...

Re: CAA vs MVFC
FWIW, As a JMU fan, ODU has lapped UD as most annoying, obnoxious, POS fans on message boards. I hate Delaware, and still do, but I hate ODU fans even more. So, there's your answer ODU fans.

Re: CAA Schedule released by league
I think JMU and ODU will be pre-season favorites to win the league. Georgia State and URI near the bottom. The middle will be a crapshoot. ODU and JMU were both young teams this year ... JMU loses the most on defense (Bryant, Middleton, Pat Williams) ... but the rest were young and they appear to be...

Re: JMU gets 4 star DB transfer from MD
JMU got another UMD transfer committment. RB Jeremiah Wilson ... who was recruited as a CB and was the #69 CB coming out of highschool. JMU is already STACKED at RB (Scott, Anderson will be Juniors, Latney will be a soph, Highly recruited Dejor Simmons will be a r-fr, and the aformentioned Beddell) ...

Re: JMU Lands Newark DE QB Taylor Reynolds
So who did ODU sign for them to pull the scholarship?? Nice signing for JMU. I saw a list of 1-AA athletes in the magazine named the Sporting News being recruited and I think ODU snatched a 6-6 245 flamethrower forgot his name. You may be thinking of Ian Fischer ... a 6-6 245 flamethrower from Mary...

Re: JMU @ EKU Official Game Thread
But I thought you were going to stop giving your opinions? JK, but it won't be a blowout. JMU never gets blown out, for some odd reason. Always lose close! Biggest blowout I can really think of was by 13 this year to UNH.CatMom wrote:IMHO - Next week should be a cake walk for NDSU

Re: JMU @ EKU Official Game Thread
Thorpe lost the 1st 3 CAA games he started in 09'- UR, Nova, and W&M, not 2 as you stated. You are correct in 9-0 since then. And all 3 were playoff teams that year, if I'm not mistaken. Thorpe did come in late in the Richmond game because of a Dudzik injury, though. Wasn't Richmond ranked #1? ...

JMU Lands Newark DE QB Taylor Reynolds
I think a lot of JMU fans are expecting Ian Fisher to be our QB of the future. The kid is 6'5 and 240 already and has a cannon and apparently can run. Was told he would redshirt next year then immediately compete as a r-fr with Jace Edwards in 2013 for Thorpe's replacement. Reynolds could move to rb...

Re: Playoff Teams
Yep ... really no other scenario I can think of. I must say ... thank you to Missouri State (2-9) and Southern Illinois (3-8) for pulling upsets today and making the MVFC a 3 team league instead of 4/5. ALso, thanks to Florida and Elon (last week) for keeping the SoCon at 3 bids ... the CAA will tak...

Re: Playoff Field
So, IF Youngstown State gets knocked off by a Missouri State team that has been playing well (for their record) ... and Illinois State loses to UNI (as projected) ... the MVFC would likely just get in 3 teams? What if Indiana State lost to SOuthern Illinois? Or are they a lock regardless? It would b...

Re: CAA vs MVFC
Since ODU is ONLY in our 3rd year of football (since 1940 something) AND in our first year of CAA football, I and most of my fellow fans are not completely up on the FCS rivalry scene. However, I do note that two conferences seem to be somewhat above the others. That's the CAA and the MVFC. It also...

Re: Mickey Matthews on hot seat?
I didn't listen to the teleconference yesterday. Did Mickey really say that the selection committee, when determining who was deserving of an at large berth, would have to take into account that he had suspended his starting quarterback for 5 games? No, if I read what you said right, you're reading...

Re: Playoff Field
I think UCA is in also. I believe that the committee would chose a 7 win second place team from the Southland before a 7 win fifth team from either the CAA or MVC Why ... they didn't last year? I could see the argument for a 4th or 5th MVFC team over a 2nd Southland. Southland is a step above the M...

Re: Mickey Matthews on hot seat?
One 6-5 season shouldn't mean you fire a coach. There are years where you have a squad that underperforms. JMU is a very good team and Matthews should have a chance to win. They may replace some coaches this year, but firing the head coach is a very rash move by the JMU fanbase. Well, a loss Saturd...

Re: Playoff Field
Round 1: 16k x $20 per ticket (avg) = $320k I think JMU could expect about 16k for a round 1 game. Maybe 4k students and 12k non-students. Round 2: JMU, if they made it, wouldn't host a round 2 game (playing a seeded team, either way) Quarters/Semis: 24k x $20 per ticket (avg) = $480,000 would fall ...

25k for JMU / URI.
JMU averaged just over 25k for their 5 home games this year, more than shattering the AD's preseason expectations of 22k

Re: Mickey Matthews on hot seat?
JMU should be one of the "top" coaching positions in FCS. It's perfect for any young coach trying to take that next step in their career. That being said, JMU needs to be careful here. If we miss the playoffs for the 3rd year ... heads may roll ... but they have to make sure they get the r...

Re: James Madison at Old Dominion
JMU hasn't given up 30 points to an FCS opponent in 29 games ... dating back to the 2008 season. Those games included some very, very good teams with very capable offenses. Hell, JMU held Virginia f*cking Tech to 16 points ... I'm not really seeing how ODU is suddenly able to hang 30+ on JMU ... ju...

You act like you're the first team that has ever come up with the concept to throw the ball. GOOD JOB! HERE'S A COOKIE! Guess what ... our defense is so good because it is built on SPEED. Re: James Madison at Old Dominion
I'm not real concerned with those fabulous, flamboyant streamers flying about. JMU fans throw one every time they score so that means they have like 2 left from the 12 packs they started the season with. Thats about right for Saturday. ;) Haha yep! Cause we haven't been scoring points at all this y...
