Then why in the world have the assistant coaches been on the road recruiting? I find it hard to believe that we have not offered a single person.

Re: New Gardner-Webb Head Coach

Bulldogdad - Are you saying a meeting was scheduled for today with the players and then postponed and/or canceled. Hope it's not deja vu x 3. I'm hoping that it was some travel related snafu for Ron Dickerson, Jr. or some final details on staff retention but if it were to be something else, well I ...

Re: New Gardner-Webb Head Coach

I love to see the passion that has been shown on this site! I hope when football season begins that the same passion shown here will show up at the games. Let's pack the stands for our players and our coaches and show them the support that they so deserve! I plan on doing more tailgating this year ...

Bulldogdad - I was under the impression that our list of O-lineman available going in to Spring Ball consists of the following: #59 Austin Sargent - Jr. 6'-3", 290 #67 Jamie Dunaway - Jr. 6'-4", 280 #71 Jeff Harris - RSo 6'-2" 290 #72 Zack Welch - RSr 6'-2" 290 #75 Dave McConnel...

Re: New Gardner-Webb Head Coach

I believe Ron Dickerson Jr. is a good choice. He is young, energetic and looking to make a name for himself as a HC. I dont see him shaking up the current staff too bad. Eagle, I count 9 returning OL if all are healthy and stay. My concern with the length of this process is how many current players ...

Re: New Gardner-Webb Head Coach

Not sure where the info came from regarding Coach Dickerson. The players have not been told anything yet. Further, it now seems that GW has been turned down a second time highlighting my previous concern that the candidates are telling our administration that they need to spend more money on our fo...

Re: New Gardner-Webb Head Coach

Also I played O Line for GW so there are plenty of ties there for me bulldogdad seeing as it is my Alma Mater, so dont jump on someone until you know the situation yourself. So I also know what comes from playing O line, if your winning the O line is not mentioned and if your losing the O line just...

I hope so 94. With only 2 weekends left for officals it would be beneficial to have a HC in place.

Come on guys! Let's keep it real. Quit the bashing (players and coaches). I know everyone is on edge and anxiously waiting for an answer, but we do need to be careful about what we post. Gardner-Webb is an awesome school with some awesome student athletes and staff. Change does not always come easy...

Re: New Gardner-Webb Head Coach

I think that the reason the O Line maybe did not play as good is because of the quality of players, which is not the coaches fault. Some have been starting that really have no reason to play because they are not ready. So dont give doolittle all the credit, he may of had better players. As for stan...

Re: Patton out at Gard-Webb?

So true Elcid. We have a few coaches that are keepers because they care about the university and the players involved. Welcome to all the new Bulldog posters. It is good to see more interest in our program. Merry Christmas to all( especially the group that meets under the shade trees :kisswink: )

Re: Patton out at Gard-Webb?

JCole62 - Glad to see you on the board. We are hoping that we'll see more and more posters to discuss GWU Football. As for the O-line sitting on the bench while on the sideline may I offer what I believe to be a reasonable explanation. If you look closely, the O-line is the only position where all ...

Re: Patton out at Gard-Webb?

Biggest draw back with Lamb is that he does not recruit this area. (Furmans roster only has 14 players from SC and 3 from NC) Great coach but I believe it is his choice not to recruit this area.

What about Kris King? Former GWU OL and GA. Pretty good OL from what I read and should know the system. Was @ GWU in 2008 as a GA working with the OL.
