Re: Widely Confused Acronyms in FCS
USC can be Southern Cal and South Carolina Ok, but this underlines the point I made earlier: It depends a lot on the context surrounding what's being discussed. This could include the focus of the board & the topics & posts within it. If it's clear the discussion is about Big Sky Conference...

Re: Widely Confused Acronyms in FCS
This is FBS, but perhaps someone knows. Why does the University of Kansas go by KU? Is it just because Kentucky beat them to the punch? Similarly, University of Colorado has always been known as CU. Why? Not sure. Also, University of Northern Colorado is known as UNC, but posts have cited it as NCU...

As a Griz fan, I wonder how much further along the 'Jacks will be to the national championship because of all this.

I think you all underrate UNC. I expect UNC to finish no lower than 6th.

University of Northern Colorado Outlook
Am looking for more/less objective evaluation of UNC's chances to improve its record in the Big Sky Conference next year & even beyond. I avoid local press & booster boards, as they always say UNC will be improved. What's the reality? Did it have a good recruiting class? If so, how is it bet...

Re: "Because Montana Hates It"
When do tickets go on sale? I imagine that first game on the red turf against the Griz is going to be a tough ticket to come by. Damn, I didn't even think of that. No way I'm missing that game. Well, miss it. Nothing will change re: the Griz. Maybe the red turf will hide the blood of EWU when it ho...

The death of the Griz is greatly exaggerated.

Re: How many sports does your school sponsor
Curious - how many sponsor the minimum to be DI, and how many sponsor at least the minimum to be FBS. 14=Minimum for DI 16=Minimum for FBS I wouldn't be suprised if the 16 sport minimum was raised once the moratorium is lifted. I'm impressed with the no. of sports that FCS schools, like Stony Brook...

I'm curious as to why that is. Don't the same athletes participate in both events? Aren't the events pretty much the same?dbackjon wrote:Indoor and Outdoor Track are separate sports

Re: 2009 FCS Attendance
The whole Villanova's attendance sucks thing is getting old. We know it does. There's nothing I or any of the other football fans can do about it. Yet, you beat a team (MT) in the NC game, pretty handily. I didn't know we got beat pretty handily, it looked like a hell of a game to me. You're right....

Changing Date of FCS NC Game
Far as I know, the FCS will change the date of the FCS NC game to January. I don't recall what specific date is considered, but I believe it's some time in the week before the BCS NC game. I think the FCS NC game will gain more interest if it's scheduled after the BCS NC game, say during the week (n...

This thread is about who was invited, not about who should be invited. Who should be invited is a topic for another thread.alphadouchebag wrote:It will be a real shame if Marc Mariani does not get invited.

Re: FCS Title Game Fight Heating Up
The only reason this NC location situation has come about is due to the recently frequent appearances of Montana in the NC game. Up until 1995, when MT defeated Marshall for the NC, the FCS NC was pretty much eastern-oriented. Now, with MT defeating AppSt in the semifinal, the point of the rise of t...

Re: Great West Conference Future
Cal Poly is 1-0 against Montana in the only game that really mattered, the playoffs. Beside football, Cal Poly overall athletic programs are far better than Montana. Cal Poly would also bring top baseball, softball, volleyball, track and field, cross country and wrestling programs to WAC. That and ...

Re: Great West Conference Future
This thread seems to be about more than the future of the GWC. It involves many FCS schools, as well as some DII schools. It involves FBS conferences, also. It's about the future of the FCS, in the West, at least. After reading many of the posts, here, I don't envy all the possibilities in conferenc...
