Re: Lindy's magazine FCS preseason top 25
Lehigh will be ranked by the end of September, if not sooner.
The PL has 3 teams that deserve Top 25 consideration, Lehigh, Colgate and Fordham. I think there's a good chance, like last year, two end up in the final poll.

The Patriot is tough to beat. From Lehigh, Lafayette and Holy Cross's facilities to Georgetown's MSF is a monumental drop. Re: UNI to FBS?
UNI would be one of the best programs in the MAC right now, and would be an annual contender with 22 more scholarships. UNI would be contenders most years but would also fall to the middle of the pack at times too. The talent level, coaching and facilites are all better than most realize. The coach...

Majerus takes leave of absence from SLU
This is a huge blow to SLU. They were likely to be the preseason favorite this year in the A10.
I can't say this is a surprise. Majerus has been battling health problems for years.

I hate the pavillion.. I wish we had about 4,000 more seats there The Pavilion is still a great place imo! I do agree that it would be better with 2 or 3k more seats. Still, a much better atmosphere than the WFC. UCONN has the same deal going on imo. Gampel has one of the best on campus atmospheres...

The two played a classic last year in Durham and this one figures to be just as good.

Some of you guys are really missing the boat on the PL teams, especially Lehigh and Colgate. The leagues postseason ban from '86 until '97 really skews the numbers. I think "screws the conference out of consideration" is more accurate than "skews the numbers" as we have NO idea ...

Re: FCS programs you consider Elite
Lehigh has one pretty big claim to fame. They are the only program to reach the 1-AA/FCS playoffs in every decade, 70's 80's, 90', 00's and 10's.
With Umass's move to FBS they will be the only program able to keep that streak alive.

Kent State is a decent enough FBS team that it would take a really good FCS squad to take them out with certainty. I fully expect the Golden Flashes to beat Towson this year.
