Re: Delaware at Maine

It's tough to score when the refs call back your touchdowns and let the other team get away with murder (you didn't have a single holding penalty called all game despite our defensive line dominating your vaunted offensive line) Blame the refs. How original. You do understand that the penalty...

Re: Delaware at Maine

Did you Delaware fans even see the game. I DID. I can tell you that we were ahead with 9 minutes left in the game. We had a touchdown called back due to your refs calling phantom holding call. I replayed the came on TV when I got home and let me tell you, not holding. I can truly say that ODU could...

Re: 2011 Recruiting

http://www.gohens.net/recruits.php That page is color-coded with my worst colorblind shades so I have no idea how many commits unless I read the whole thing. I stared pretty hard and I think we have three or four, but not certain. I know Farkas was a well-rated pickup from Florida. :thumb: I...

Re: Georgia Southern @ Delaware Official Semifinal Game Thre

Why do GSU fans keep mentioning W&M's "#1 guy?" Which W&M QB are you referring to? Callahan? He's the guy who led W&M back after UD had dominated the Tribe O with Paulus at the helm. His insertion into the game was a surprise to most--W&M fans included. So he beat us after ...

Re: Obama can go "shove it"

I don't believe that Obama has given a formal backing to Chafee at this point. His snub of Caprio is being taken as silent endorsement of The Linc. Of course, Obama might've given an endorsement at some point and I just missed it since I don't read the ProJo.

Re: New Client Denied Health Coverage...

An irrelevant arguement? It has everything to do with this discussion. The claim is we spend too much for little return on life expectancy. I and others have shown that there is more benefit to health care spending than just life expectancy, then you show a chart that is CLEARLY showing that life e...

Re: New Client Denied Health Coverage...

What I meant earlier, 00, about deifying doctors is the notion that we've given to them God-like, life-saving powers and that has meant a considerable cashing in on their part. Not necessarily "wrong", just a fact. Physicians in many (most) other countires do not enjoy the country club li...

Re: New Client Denied Health Coverage...

No part. It all looks that way...but...It's going up by the steady rate of 3 months per year nowadays. The slope is flattening, and that is a smaller increase per year than what we saw in the 70s and 80s. Contrast that "steady increase" with the slope increase of the GDP percentage graph. ...

Re: New Client Denied Health Coverage...

Ummm, I'm not sure at which chart you are looking. That looks like a pretty steady climb to me. Cherry picking a two year stretch in the 90's? Suspect at best. :coffee: :) I can assure you it's not just me doing the cherry-picking. The primary care community as a whole are noting this issues, as ar...

Re: New Client Denied Health Coverage...

Not true at all. The ONLY case the chart made and that you've been trying to make is that somehow the amount spent on health care must increase longevity to be effective. First off, that's simply NOT the case. Take my hip replacement question as an example of a VERY expensive procedure that DRASTIC...

Re: New Client Denied Health Coverage...

Right. We're a fatter, unhealthier society. I certainly am plenty knowledgable about that. Let me rephrase my question (again, in terms of the graphical data): Why are we spending twice as much on healthcare than other nations to live less? We're spending more, but we're not seeing a positive resul...

Re: New Client Denied Health Coverage...

It's one of them, Hoagie. We've deified doctors way too much. Lifestyle is most likely the number one factor in life expectancy...so to solely bring up health care costs in this discussion is a FAIL... The overall value of US Healthcare (which, if you want a mathematical definition of "value&q...

Re: New Client Denied Health Coverage...

Of course there are other factors involved in life expectancy. The point of that graph is that we're spending MORE to live FEWER YEARS than other industrialized countries. How does that equate? What's the rationale behind that? Industrialized countries on the graph are fairly well depicted. Britain,...

Re: CAA Separation Saturday - Part 2

the high attendance will be because of the location. As Col pointed out... lots of eastern Massachusetts fans will show that dont normally like to drive west for games. 2 UD fans who are mired in Rhode Island are also making the drive to check out Gillette and watch a good football game. Re: #1 & #2 how good are they?

But you'd have to balance that with the most years UD has played a I-A in their 1st 7 games or at least a tougher OOC. --The only seasons in the last 20 years where UD's played a I-A in their first 7 games were 1992 and 2008, so that's difficult to balance. This year UD OOC was 2 cupcakes and a wea...

We're the only industrialized nation where basic health insurance is for-profit. :ohno: :puppy: Native, can you please explain why the US is the outlier on this graphic? http://y42k.fi...
