Re: Rivalries
Richmond's longest rivalry is with the Indians of William and Mary. Over the last eight or so years, UR's most intense rivalry is JMU. Lots of venum and verbal smack between the two schools' fans prior to each battle!

Congrads to Eastern Washington from this Richmond Spider and CAA fan!
I love FCS football! It is so superior to those FBS guys!

Goodnight All!
Despite its unexpected crushing loss to the Indians of W&M :o , Richmond still ended up with a winning record (6-5). Hopefully Coach Scott and the other coaches will continue to keep UR winning and perhaps a play off spot in 2011. Good night until the week of the 2011 opener against Duke on Sept...

Re: Final: Georgia State 7, Alabama 63
I believe this was the final game of the season for Ga State. They'll have plenty of time to recover.
I wonder if they have a powerful I-A school on their 2011 schedule?

Re: Georgia State vs. Alabama
The record for the worst beating in college football is a Georgia Tech 222-0 victory. Perhaps this record will be broken tonght!

The hate continues...final score Richmond 13 JMU 10 (ot). I love it!
Guess the Barneys are not feeling too well tonight! Mickey probably left our "Little Stadium" (his reference to our new venue) with a huge headache! I love it when UR beats the Barneys! I really hate JMU!

Re: best coach/worst coach in your program's history
I would have to say there is a tie for the best coach in University of Richmond football. Frank Jones (1966-1973) coached the Spiders to the only bowl victory in school history. 1968 Tangerine Bowl : Richmond 49 Ohio Univ. 42. Mike London coached the Spiders to the National Championship in 2008... R...

Re: Another FCS program in the making?
If VCU buys the stadium I believe they would fully renovate the facility. I just wonder if they would put that Ram head logo on the 50 yard line? I guess one endzone would read Rams and the other would read VCU.The background color would be black and the lettering would be gold. Another question...W...

Another FCS program in the making?
In yesterday's Richmond Times Dispatch there was an article that discusses Virginia Commonwealth University' (VCU) interest in purchasing from the city of Richmond, City Stadium. Could VCU football be on the horizon? Thoughts?

With no "true" QBs available, should UR go to the single wing offense?

Re: Can we finally put Richmond out to pasture?
Let's just accept the fact that some years a team is really bad.
For Richmond, this is one of those years. Even though we really suck right now, I will still pull for the Spiders! A true fan sticks with their team in the sucky years as well as the NC years!

Is Richmond's season over?
It was bad enough that UR was shut out at Durham, N.H. this afternoon 0-17. Richmond is now 0-2 in the CAA. Corp is most likely lost for the rest of this season. We are probably looking at a 2-9 season while going winless in conference play. Looks to be a "sad" season. At least it w...

The future of Richmond football?
First I must salute the Blue Hens on their easy win over my Spiders yesterday at Robins Stadium. Now for the subject of this post....I think yesterday's result confirms (I fear) the end of a very successful era of UR football. Over the last five years UR experienced the greatest success in its long ...

Re: Barneys "sneer" Robins Stadium
To the ugly JMU poster....I won't respond to your comment.....To Penthouseclosedend....ur76 is a real person....having attended UR from 1972-1976, graduating in May of 1976 with a BA Degree. Of the schools in CAA football, I dislike JMU the most! I can't stand those Barneys! While I am not too happy...

Barneys "sneer" Robins Stadium
Over on the JMU website there is a post in which the Barneys sneer at the University of Richmond's on campus football stadium by suggesting silly names for that facility. Of course, as expected, they jump on the small capacity of the facality by suggesting uncomplimentary names for it. I won't menti...

Re: Richmond @ Virginia
About two months ago I did say there is the possibility of UR going 0-11 in 2010. In my "hear of hearts" I sincerely hope this does not happen. I recall all too well the winless seasons of 1979 & 1982. These were very painful times for Spider fans. In another post I said that I can als...

Re: Richmond @ Virginia
Final: Virginia 34 Richmond 13 As in many games when a FCS team plays a FBS team, the FCS often stays with their opponant for the first half, or through three quarters. Then the superior numbers, speed and strength of the FBS school "takes over" the contest. Richmond was down 21-13 going i...
