Re: JMU Bids
These things aren't usually opened up for public consumption, but I would wonder how many times ASU, UD, Montana actually submitted a higher bid for their games...or was it awarded irrespective of bids, because the NCAA knows they are cash cows. It could be that they've never faced a team with such...

BDKJMU, I always like your detailed analysis, even if I don't always agree with the conclusion. However... since I have seen it a few times now, you may want to check the UR-Duke score, it was 23-21(we missed an XP, they missed 2 FGs). http://web1.ncaa.org/football/exec/rankingSummary?year=2011&...

Re: Create-A-Conference
I would like to see a conference develop as a second "Ivy" ... maybe a Southern Ivy conference ... at the very least something along the lines of the Patriot League that takes in a lot of quality schools and would be great for the branding of the FCS. They would be required to send a team...

Akron - hosted Syracuse this year (I'm exempting Syracuse from your Big East clause since it looks like they're moving to the ACC) and hosted Indiana in 2010, Bowling Green - hosted Minnesota in 2008 Buffalo - hosted Pittsburgh in 2008 (exempted from your Big East clause since it appears they're mo...

Re: JMU AD: Move to FBS "very likely" in 18-24 months
Do we really have any idea what the postseason will look like for Non-BCS FBS in a year or two? If the 64 teams or so of the "New" BCS, have an 8 team playoff without the Non-BCS, will the bowl system outside of that continue?

About Stony Brook, somewhere I heard his process is that the top 20 are who he believes will make the playoffs. But if so, then where is the NEC?

Re: Do you consider Youngstown State an elite FCS program?
There are so many factors to consider. Younger folks hear Patriot and think of the Patriot teams of today, not knowing that they were much better in the 70's. They would also think too highly of teams like W&M and Richmond who are I-AA players now, but were really weak in the 70's as a part of ...

Re: Do you consider Youngstown State an elite FCS program?
@89hen, That's why there is some confusion. Maybe 30-35% of I-AA came from Division I and 70-75% from Division II, so therefore Small College/"old" Division II doesn't equal current FCS but was the closest thing available at the time. So the debate becomes were there enough teams playing o...

Re: Do you consider Youngstown State an elite FCS program?
If you really wanted to see which label/division in the past was the closest equivalent of FCS today...it would be great to see what percentage of current FCS programs were in each division from 1960 to 1985... I don't see a perfect match, but it might give some insight. I think the SoCon and maybe ...

Re: CAA Predictions Week 9
Since I included CAA playoff picture in this thread, everyone keeps talking about at least 4, maybe 5 CAA teams getting in. IF the rest of the CAA games played out according to who was favored as of this week, you would likely have: -UNH losing to W&M and @ Nova, finishing 6-5 -JMU losing @ UR ...
