Re: Death to the BCS

I read it and though I would like to make a few changes to their proposed format, I generally agree with it. I also agree with the author's premise that all of us who agree the BCS should die should also agree to quit quibbling over minute details and get on with the execution!! Once the BCS is dead...

Re: The New Big Sky Conference

One problem faced by Cal Poly and probably by others is when the game schedule conflicts with quarterly terms. This year, the first home game was played a week before students arrived on campus. The following week, the Montana game sold out. The next home game wasn't until SIX WEEKS later!! This has...

Re: EASTERN WASHINGTON IS IN THE MOTHER FXCKING BUILDING!

Made this FCS season totally worth it!! Can't wait to see the Eagles on our outrageous GREEN turf next year!!! BTW, it's made of REAL grass which is becoming extremely rare these days lol.. You guys had an outstanding season! The kind dreams are made of. I'm hoping Poly can live that dream next year...

Re: OFFICIAL EWU v DELAWARE FRISCO NC GAME THREAD EXTRAVAGAN

BTW, this was damn good game to represent the FCS if ya care for that sort of stuff (other than that chain fiasco). Chain was definitely controversial. However, my brother and I noticed that on the next measurement, when Delaware had the ball, the person controlling the "yellow line" in t...

Re: OFFICIAL EWU v DELAWARE FRISCO NC GAME THREAD EXTRAVAGAN

Was rooting for EWU, but have to tell you... at halftime.... I wasn't holding onto much hope they could do it. Then the second half Eagles came out and WOW!!! What a come back!!! Lots of fun watching this game once they were in it. Geezzz... now Cal Poly has to face at least 5 defending champions ne...

Re: The New Big Sky Conference

Thank you everyone for your input on this. My first goal was to get people talking about possibilities and you've come up with good arguments for a number of scenarios. There is definitely a lot to consider here and we all realize the economic climate makes it EXTREMELY unlikely anything will happen...

Re: The New Big Sky Conference

What's the possibility of UCSB or one of the other California schools resurrecting their football program? I agree, with BSC needs a 14th member for football. Zero. And even if some wealthy alums could pony up the money to restart football at either of these schools, the school administration and s...

Re: The New Big Sky Conference

One striking difference I see.... NC had just won back to back DII national championships. Just saying..
Also, in addition to their 3 wins this year, they were right in the game with Eastern WA, Montana State and Weber among others. Sometimes the W-L record doesn't tell all.

Re: The New Big Sky Conference

Hi SuperHornet! Thanks for the input, but I'll repost my response to Musty on the Cal Poly forum: Musty, thanks for the input. I agree it's more likely a D-I will be cut, but this IS a possibility. I know Santa Barbara and I personally know at least five individuals who "could" fund this t...

Re: The New Big Sky Conference

Definitely agree that the Big Sky needs to find a 14th member. I'm gonna make an argument for UCSB. Here's a portion of a response I posted in UC Santa Barbara's Nexus newspaper: ....The opportunity to capitalize on that in `92 after moving to DII was ripe, but lack of communication and misinformati...

The New Big Sky Conference

Really looking forward to the coming season, but perhaps even more to the following year when Cal Poly, UC Davis, Southern Utah and North Dakota all join the Big Sky Conference. This conference will definitely be as strong as any in the FCS http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v455/bojeta/Graphics%20Pr...

Re: College Gear Store

Would love to see: 1. Schutt and/or Ridell mini football helmets for all FCS teams 2. Conference collections of mini football helmets for all FCS Conferences 3. Pocket helmet collections for all FCS conferences At this point I have found, with some difficulty, the following Great West Conf Helmets b...

Re: 2011 Schedules

OK... my apologies!! I went to a San Diego State site and didn't check my sources thoroughly last time. I should have known someone there might have been less informed about their player's status than I. Anyhow, they are losing several players on Offense and several on Defense, but still return the ...

Re: 2011 Schedules

Doh! Sorry about the screw up on North Dakota's location. I'll make the repair right away. BTW... Love the Fighting Sioux mascot. Sure hope there is some way they can work it out with the NCAA and keep it. I hear the Sioux nation is actually behind the mascot for the most part. Damn politics don't b...

Re: 2011 Schedules

I'm gonna have to argue that Cal Poly may have the toughest schedule in FCS this year and it still needs two games to finish out the regular season. I borrowed the helmet images to make a little wall schedule for my office. I added significant notes, but here's more to consider: 1. San Diego State r...

Re: CAN EASTERN WASHINGTON BEAT nova WITHOUT TAIWAN JONES?

Always amuses me how certain everyone is about a program that they have no experience competing with. Obviously the pundits were wrong again and EW was victorious. Not gonna say I knew that would be the case, I didn't. But I certainly wouldn't have tried to predict more than a good contest and that'...

Re: Fun Game...Cal Poly @ ODU

So wish I could have been there!!! I'm a Cal Poly alumnus, but my father was born and raised in Norflolk, VA. He was there when Old Dominion opened! Listening to this game on the radio was fun. I can only imagine how great it was to be there. I too would love to see a great program like Old Dominion...
