This sounds like exactly what we need! With some heat on opposing QB's, we won't give up so much passing yardage this season.SloStang wrote:J D Scroggins tweeted 6'5" 254 lb UCLA DE Wesley Flowers transferred to Cal Poly.
Nice bookends with Flowers and Irwin at DEs backed up by Ontko at LB.

Re: The New Big Sky Conference
I agree. C. WA is about as solid a DII program as you'll find out west. Humboldt State has been very good the past couple of years and looks to be strong again for 2011. Not known as a power in the DII world, but has a long tradition of football and might be a candidate some time in the future. I r...

Re: WASHINGTON HUSKY FANS AREN'T HAPPY ABOUT THE GAME W/ EAS
If EWU were to win, I would compare it more towards NDSU beating Minnesota a few years ago. A really good FCS team beating a poor, struggling FBS school. Still impressive, but nothing compared to what App St. did. Not really. Minnesota is nowhere in the realm of Washington. They've had some hard ti...

Re: Sometimes things just need a kickstart... UCSB Football
Nice to see all of these springing up!! I think a lot depends upon the vote at the end of the month at Long Beach State- if it's a win or close, there'll be more movement in this direction; if it's defeated handily, i think the issue will be tabled. That said, I think UCSB is probably the ideal sch...

Re: Some changes I'l like to see to the FCS playoffs...
It seems to me you have to keep the home field as we have it now and the bowls would be regional. Im not sure how that might affect potential sponsors. After all, a playoff game at Montana is more valuable to a sponsor than a playoff game at EWU. I think the home field up to the championship works ...

Re: Some changes I'l like to see to the FCS playoffs...
Nobody's talked about it recently, but the quarters are technically regional bowl games. The West Regional Final is the Camellia Bowl, a name that originally came from a bowl in Sacramento. Originally, there were regional bowls that were used to determine the final polls for the small college divis...

Some changes I'l like to see to the FCS playoffs...
I love FCS football and hope the playoff system remains!! However, I think they're missing a great opportunity to increase enthusiasm, attendance and generate more revenue while they're at it. I would like to see this: 1. First and second rounds remains the same 2. Third round becomes two bowl games...

Re: The New Big Sky Conference
I'll spare you the trouble....no public university in CA is starting a football program. The end. I am sure you are right, but in last few months I have seen articles about 5 UC or CSU schools considering adding football. Perhaps this might be the time. They could stay in the Big West for most spor...

Re: Sometimes things just need a kickstart... UCSB Football
I think a football program would go a long way toward giving Fullerton a collegiate feel and a sense of identity. I've been checking out facilities at the various campuses on Google Earth and was surprised to see that Fullerton has a 10,000 seat stadium that appears to in relatively good shape. UOP ...

Sometimes things just need a kickstart... UCSB Football
It looks like the discussion is heating up throughout the former Big West/PCAA Football Conference. A "Bring back UCSB Football" campaign has been launched as well as campaigns at Long Beach, Northridge and Fullerton. There are always plenty of reasons why something can't be done. Only tak...

Re: The New Big Sky Conference
You have been in California for some time now so you would not be expanding the geography any further grumpy. Long Beach is even farther from the epicenter of the BSC than the other CA schools. But since you think the world revolves around CA, you probably haven't noticed. My guess is that the Athl...

Re: Oddly early preseason top-25 FCS
IMO.... Their guess looks to be about as good as anybody's. There are plenty of changes this year and a slew of challenging schedules which could have a dramatic impact in terms of W/L and injuries at the FCS level where depth is typically not a strong point. I'm happy to start with these rankings a...

[/b][/quote] I have never said it was one of the toughest in the country. I am just saying that you can have 10 tough games and one not so tough game and it still can be a tough schedule. You'll have to be in Davis? That sux. :coffee: Ahhh.... no sour grapes lol. Here's the Bleacher Report on Hawaii. As I suspected, they're losing a ton of what made them so successful in 2010 so I'm completely removing them for top 25 contention in FBS. http://bleacherreport.com/articles/599182-coll...

Re: Cal Poly and UC Davis announce amazingly similar schedul
I was hoping we’d see you guys on the schedule this season, we still have one spot open and with what we have returning I hope to God it is an FCS team. Either way I am pretty confident CP will be on our schedule every season starting in 2012. It will do wonders for our attendance. Look forward to ...
