Re: 2019 NDSU Expects 40,000 Against Butler at Target Field
NDSU slipping in the eyes of the money now -48.5. It looks to me that $400,000 wins $100 on a straight up Bison win. A straight up on Butler wins $80,000 on a $100 bet. Tough to take the Bison without giving the points As my uncle once told me "there's a reason your horse is 75-1... he's slow....

Re: Do they sell beer at your stadium?
There's a beer garden next to the press box, a VIP area with beer and wine under the press box, and a Miller-Coors endzone tent that costs $30 and includes the beer. Of course the press box suites you can bring your own into. A friend of mine has one but they are rather stale and you can't hear the...

Re: NDSU vs. EWU National Championship Game Thread
If NDSU wins this I think they will finish highest in the Sagarin ratings that any I-AA/FCS team has ever finished. Right now they are at 17. That, by the way, is one spot higher than Central Florida. I am hoping for a good game. But I think we are at the point where we need to have some of lower s...

Re: NDSU at Montana - Game Thread
Can some Bizon fan explain to me how #5 is a starter for your team? He is terrible. Like NAIA-type. Cant cover a soul, can't tackle, and draws penalties every drive. I don't follow NDSU except around playoff time, but the announcers made mention that they actually moved amid from CB to safety becaus...

Re: 2014 Playoffs Rnd 2: Montana at Eastern Washington
Seemed like every 50/50 call went in favor of the Griz in the first half, and the favors were returned to Eastern in the second half.

Re: Kickoff Question
Kickoffs have the highest incident rate of injury of any play in football. Thus, the NCAA moved the default line to the 25 (as well as push kickoffs back up 5 yards) to put more balls into the endzone and have an appropriate incentive not to return the football from the endzone. Unless you're behind...

Re: Big Sky Power Rankings 9-8
Southern Utah looked tougher against Nevada than Washington State did. The problem SUU is going to keep running into is the fact that they struggle to score points.
It looks like SELA might be as good as advertised.

I didn't realize this because I haven't driven to Montgomery in a few years, but how the Hell did Alabama State manage to build such a football palace? I'm certainly no fan of the Bison, but when you beat a BCS team on their home field, you deserve your own thread. Even if they do it almost every year, and the win came against a really weak BCS team.

Re: Former Montana LB Tripp gets pub in Sports Illustrated
I've always wondered why people play up the angle of "could he play at Michigan (et al)?" Every year, the top tier FCS programs play games against the BCS (Big Sky, MVC, Southland, Colonial) and the upsets aren't much fewer than the blowouts. It's obvious that the kids who start for the to...

Re: Bogus Rule Change in the Works
The speed of the game is one thing I really like about college football. There are already enough stoppages for measurements, TV timeouts, replays (seems like almost a third of the games have replay now). Let the offenses run at their tempo. I hate the NFL for having even lengthier timeouts. The ube...

Re: DO YOU THINK THE EWU GATEWAY PROJECT WILL BE BUILT?
How much was spent on a hockey rink? 20 MILLION! You have one of the best fcs football teams in the country and they spent 20 MILLION ON A HOCKEY RINK and left roos field looking like a dump. Kill yourself. It's called the "Rec Center" and houses an indoor track, rock climbing wall, weigh...

Re: DO YOU THINK THE EWU GATEWAY PROJECT WILL BE BUILT?
I'm sure it will get done, but it might be scaled back some. I just struggle to see how a $60m project is necessary all in one shot. Building 5,000 better seats on the East Side with an add-on terrace as a second phase at a time to be determined later is just fine for now. Then again, Eastern blew $...

Re: Mickey's Monkeys no more
Appreciate the information and position from jmu fans. It would probably be good for the state of Virginia to have a 2nd successful FBS program. It just seems as though the timing is wrong. I do wish ODU the best of luck. Perhaps JMU is less certain. They have been successful just not as successful...

Re: (7) Towson Tigers @ (3) Eastern Eagles Game Thread
First off, as it relates to the red turf: it doesn't really matter if you love it or hate it because when you watch a game on it, you only notice it for the first 5 minutes. After that, it's about the game and the background color is just that, background. As it relates to the possibility of West ju...

Re: NDSU Names Chris Klieman Next Head Coach
Curious, how long is Bohl sticking around for? I just can't imagine why Wyoming would hire him and then let him continue at NDSU during recruiting season. I'm sure it benefits the Bison in the short term, but it seems like a problem for Wyoming--- his future employer . Also, what's up with the NDSU...

Re: CAA is back!
Strength of schedule only matters if you have 8 wins. With 5 losses, you don't deserve to be in the playoffs. Any suggestion otherwise shows that the playoff field has expanded too include too many teams. That said, it is troubling when teams like SC State get in, as it doesn't take a genius to figu...

Re: MSU back-to-back Buck winner
How did the CB from North Dakota State not win? That dude is the best defensive player in the FCS, IMO. He's been the best athlete on the field in the couple of Bison games I watched this year. He can do it all, fly around, defeat block, make tackles, and he's great in coverage. He'd have been my pi...
