Re: Idaho Football Gets Postseason Ban
We always had practice on Sunday. It was a light practice but practice nonetheless. Monday off. My D3 had weights on Sunday's. Monday - Was practice but wasn't practice at the same time. Hats only and pretty much only game planning and was shorter than the rest of the week Tuesday - full Wednesday ...

Re: SCOTUS upholds Michigan's ban on AA in admissions
Take it for what it is worth as I haven't read the opinions but it seems that Sotomayer's concern was with continued discrimination against minorities which is fine except that ( maybe not in Michigan) Asian Americans seem to believe that affirmative actions discriminates against them so it seems i...

Re: Welfare Whores Pt.2 - Berkshire Hathaway
No sane person would fault a company for using a tax law to their advantage. What we do fault is the creation and continued existence of such a law. I agree. But must people also don't advocate for higher taxes while using every loophole they can find or get Congress to create for them. Just about ...

Re: Welfare Whores Pt.2 - Berkshire Hathaway
Bingo. The man is using an existing law to his advantage. And this isn't a tax avoidance play. Its a tax deferral strategy. The built-in gain in the share he has today will just be transferred to a different asset which if he sold would generate a gain and a tax. There is no "step-up in basis....

It has some good and some questionable pieces to it. But it has 0% chance of becoming law in its entirety. Some pieces will get picked up along the way though, especially the non-controversial revenue generators. The biggest breakthrough the bill achieved is it got the CBO to "score" the r...

My nephew was back in action this weekend after a long layoff from the sport to recover from injury and refocus. Former NCAA decathlon champ, he competed Saturday in pole vault. Re: Vermont pushing for mandatory GMO labeling
As someone who has recently been quite involved in farming due to my distillery biz....many people would be shocked what farmers (REAL farmers, not backyard farmers) have to do to/for their crops if they are using non-GMO. Knowing what I know, I'll take GMO crops any day. Same goes for organic, whi...

I don't think the FDA has any time to deal with the "Food" aspect of their charge given the $1 trillion-a-year Drug industry they also have to watch.kalm wrote:I wonder if they have any influence with the FDA?danefan wrote:

I don't know if it validates any scientific research. I'm all for as much labeling as possible and allowing the customer to make a decision. They aren't asking for a Surgeon General's warning right? Just a label saying - contains GMO? I don't have any issue with GMO crops. I don't eat any because m...

Albany played a great game against #1 'Cuse this week. Lost in OT after coming back from 5 down in the 4th to tie it up.
Great result considering it was Albany's 1st game and Cuse's 2nd.

Which is why I give him even more credit than some of the other athletes that have come out. He "came out" with his team this year. It was going to break eventually, he just did it on his own terms I guess. Better now than as a spectacul a day before the draft. He's supposed to be a 3-5th...
