Re: QF - #8 Montana St. @ #1 Sam Houston
Your tears are delicious and your jealousy is duly noted. All other things aside, are you going to deny that South Dakota State had its starting quarterback go down to injury in the Jackrabbits first series of the game? Do you recall that their starting quarterback was the Missouri Valley Conferenc...

Re: QF - #8 Montana St. @ #1 Sam Houston
To me it's a reminder of what a fluke it was that Sam Houston State won the national title in the Spring due to all the weird stuff that happened. As noted on the Sam Houston State athletic site (https://gobearkats.com/news/2021/8/4/football-bearkats-attack-start-of-2021-fall-practice.aspx), going ...

Re: Sam Houston @ Jacksonville St.
I sure hope you're wrong. Our QB has been, at best, inconsistent. If he can have a decent game, it should create some better opportunities for our running game. At this point, the Kats are playing on house money. I don't think anyone, myself included, thought we would be in the second round of the p...

Re: Southland Championship Game
He's a very good player but, overall, Southeastern Louisiana's defense was more impressive in that game than Sam Houston State's was. Sam Houston State only got 13 first downs and 269 total yards. They're a running team and they rushed for 150 yards at 3.6 yards per carry. Their offense was pretty ...

Re: KC Keeler Stacks the Sandbags
That was an azz whuppin'. If anyone didn't notice, SHSU's schedule worked out well. They got to start practice earlier than everyone else due to their EWU game being moved up. They had a bye game already scheduled, and got an extra bye when the original EWU game was moved up. Essentially, the...

Re: Colorado State Pueblo Pistol Whipping Sam Houston State
UD's administration killed the golden goose. They promised us, and KC, a new stadium...and we all got hand rails. The crowd left, even when we were winning, so don't listen to those bitter people blaming things on KC. KC had a winning history long before he came to UD...and he'll continue win...

Re: Colorado State Pueblo Pistol Whipping Sam Houston State
KC had three great years.. but he had a lot more piss poor ones and those numerous shitty seasons are the reasons many UD fans are happy he's gone. Tubby Raymond may not have won an FCS title.. but unlike KC.. he did consistently produce a quality product. Tubby had 6 poor seasons in 36 years.. KC ...

Re: Colorado State Pueblo Pistol Whipping Sam Houston State
You're right, Kalm. We were supposed to play EWU last week but ended up playing CSU-P because the EWU game got moved. We got curb stomped by a much better coached team. Keeler has shown that he is truly a terrible coach. I'm afraid he's lost the team and will destroy any progress the program has ma...

Re: Colorado State Pueblo Pistol Whipping Sam Houston State
I think an interesting part of this debate, though, is how few times a really top D2 team gets to play a good or really good FCS team. It begs the question, what was SHSU thinking in putting Pueblo on the schedule in the first place? You're already going to get the knock of playing a D2 team, but a...

Re: Eastern and SHSU to open the season?
Too bad Sam Houston State's flash in the pan is probably over. Sam Houston State is historically a mediocre I-AA/FCS program that had a flash in the pan with one outstanding nucleus of players. It was very convenient, I think, for Fritz that he got to leave before the effects of losing that nucleus...

Re: KC Keeler the new HC at Sam Houston State
I have a question for you UD guys. In looking at KC's head coaching record, it seems he had trouble with consistency at UD. At Rowan, he was very consistent. Why do y'all think he had such up and down seasons at UD? That was just because it was so hard to compete in the CAA every year.....just so d...

Re: KC Keeler the new HC at Sam Houston State
Bearkat, before a HC was named what was the outlook for SHSU in 2014? Have you guys released your 2014 schedule yet? Haven't seen it other that trips to Cheney, WA & Death Valley/Baton Rouge, LA. I wasn't really sure what to expect. We lost our 3 offensive studs (Flanders, Bell and Sincere). Th...

KC will be successful at SHSU...and it will be interesting to see who he chooses for his staff. Look for a championship run from them soon.
Let's hope you're right.

Re: KC Keeler the new HC at Sam Houston State
I know you're a huge KC fanboi and apologist, but you're dilusional if you think what was put on the field the last eight seasons was exciting in any way. It was the most predictable offense I've ever witnessed in my life. The exciting part was that KC was adept at finding great transfers who could...

Re: KC Keeler the new HC at Sam Houston State
Huh? KC's offense has been awesome at times. Hall, Flacco, Devlin...they all did well. And KC was looking for some duel threat QBs before UD decided to go with a friendly sheep. I think our previous OC was sleeping at the wheel and KC was going to jettison that OC after trying to get him coached up...

Re: Willie Fritz to GaSo
I'll be curious to see who we get to replace him. I'm guessing our former DC, Scott Stoker, who's now the DC at UTEP will be high on the list. Shitty timing, but good luck to Fritz and GSU.

Re: Game You're Most Interested in Watching...
My homer pick would be SHSU at SELU. It's hard to beat the same team twice in one year, so I'm hoping my Kats will pull out the win in Hammond this weekend.
My non-homer pick would be SDSU at EWU. I think it'll be interesting to see if EWU can stop Zenner or if SDSU can stop Adams and company.
