Re: CAA Week 11 Standings & Prediction thread
BDKJMU: I am not sure that I want to see it again since I still have flashbacks of 2004. 2009 for you, Vutomcat. The only CAA foe we have taken down in the playoffs was the Hens in 2004 and it took an unbelievable comeback to make it happen. I think the CAA will get 4 as long as we have 4 teams or m...

Re: Big Sky: Holy Crap!
Can you guys give your current thoughts as to the potential contenders for the Big Sky title and who you think makes the playoffs from the Big Sky. I know this weekend proved nothing is certain, but how many teams still have a shot at the playoffs?

CAA Week 11
New Hampshire will never die. Week 11 is a key to the championship race and to see how many teams remain mathematically alive for the final week. Richmond and W&M both need wins to set up a showdown for the CAA title next week in Richmond. Richmond is at Villanova(which needs a win to stay alive...

Re: POSSIBLE SEEDING FOR BIG SOUTH?
Congrats to Charleston Southern for winning the Big South and a berth in the playoffs. Absolutely crazy day yesterday. At this point, I see 2 seeds for the MVFC, and a seed for McNeese and for Jacksonville St. Jacksonville St. probably the #1 overall if they win out. The other 4 are unknown at this ...

Re: POSSIBLE SEEDING FOR BIG SOUTH?
Can we at least agree that if Charleston Southern wins the Big South that Coastal will not be seeded? No way, the Big South gets 2 seeds and if CSU wins the league and does not get seeded then Coastal shouldn't either. However, the picture will be a little clearer after tomorrow. Most likely the CAA...

Re: Week 10 CAA Prediction Thread
Delaware Tribe Stony Brook Villanova New Hampshire Towson New Hampshire is probably not as good as in past years, but no one is ever able to pin that 5th regular season loss on them. If they can beat Richmond at home, the last 2 games are very likely wins. If New Hampshire goes 7-4 and Towson does t...

Re: POSSIBLE SEEDING FOR BIG SOUTH?
I expect CSU to win on Saturday, but I have a legitimate question. If they lose to Kennesaw St, who gets the autobid? Kennesaw would have 1 loss, same as CSU and Coastal. Liberty would still have games with CSU and Coastal to go, but I am not sure who Kennesaw has left.

Re: JMU @ William & Mary
No reason to throw it the towel. The Dukes are legit, even without Lee. Lee is a very, very special player and also sounds like a humble guy. So, it is going to hurt the national chances to have him out, but no one in Williamsburg expects JMU not to be ready and still really good. Just perhaps not &...

Re: Week 9 CAA Prediction Thread
89Hen's score is similar to the 30 point win some are predicting for JMU. It isn't going to happen. It will be a high energy, playoff atmosphere, down to the wire type game in Williamsburg this weekend. I would be shocked if JMU scores only 17 points unless Zable gets 2 feet of water. Then, it might...

Re: Remember when
Yeah, the 1st game against a tops in the Pioneer quasi non-scholly Jacksonville can be explained away as a very young team breaking in a rFr QB. But the URI loss is a headscratcher for sure, esp consider it came between the W&M & UNH wins. I guess most conferences have a Jekyll & Hyde t...

Can't argue that. The Tribe was terrible all across the board in that game, except for Dedmon who had 2 long touchdowns.

Re: JMU @ William & Mary
Not a shock. It seems like every year, JMU has someone suspended that gets reinstated just in time for the game against the Tribe. Most recently, it was Andre Nation in basketball, but the most famous one was Justin Thorpe's 6th or 7th year of eligibility. He played and helped the Dukes to a win and...

Re: Vad Lee's career at JMU over with season ending injury
Coming into the season 3 of the top, if not top 3 Payton candidates: -John Robertson, won Payton last year, in Sept out for the season. -Carson Wentz, top pro prospect QB in I-AA, a week+ ago out till at least Dec if not for season. -Vad Lee, 4th in Payton voting last year, now out for season. I li...

Re: JMU @ William & Mary
Losing Lee is a huge deal for JMU, but they are still very capable of winning Saturday. We have not heard for certain, but it is very likely Rhodes is out for W&M. Dedmon did not play in the second half. If he is full speed, he is as good as anybody Richmond has at receiver. I expect the Tribe t...

I would too had we not lost to Delaware. That game may cost us all year, unless we run the table from here on out. Certainly, it didn't help that they lost 20-0 to Rhode the next week, either.vutomcat wrote:I would have William and Mary and Fordham switched.

Re: UNH at W&M
Went back and looked and you have convinced me. I think my statements were based on the hollow feeling of all the late season losses in 2 consecutive 7-5 campaigns for the Tribe. Also, we missed at 7-4 in 2008. Richmond won in OT at W&M in November and went on to win the National Title. We sat h...

Re: Week 7 CAA Prediction Thread
W&M 30, NH 27. This is a must win for both teams. I would think the Tribe is really good if we had not lost at Delaware. I would think the Wildcats are really good if they had not gotten blown out at Stony Brook. History would say both are pretty good, but so far both are behind JMU and Richmon...

Re: UNH at W&M
Very possible, but it is early for that discussion and probably on a different thread. More likely though that at least one 5-3, 7-4 gets left out this year. There might be 4 CAA teams that finish 6-2 or better. Stony Brook, Villanova and New Hampshire all could easily still finish 6-2(even if NH lo...

Re: Nova's John Robertson Out Indefinitely (PCL)
Very interesting theory and very believable. Tribe fans wish a certain former Villanova player had gone pro for baseball a year earlier. There would have been an excellent chance for a 2009 Tribe national championship if he had. On Robertson, had he gone to JMU, perhaps they would not be enjoying th...

Re: Nova's John Robertson Out Indefinitely (PCL)
What an amazing career for him. I am sad that it ended that way. Certainly Tribe fans noticed the difference from a national title contender that broke our hearts in the last minute 2 years in a row to the game last Saturday. I hope he recovers and gets a shot with an NFL team next season. Villanova...

Re: UNH at W&M
So far, it does appear that JMU and UR are the best 2 teams in the league. But this game is a big one as traditionally both these teams are in the upper tier of the CAA. New Hampshire gets Goldrich back. If he makes as much difference to New Hampshire as Robertson did to Villanova then New Hampshire...

Re: Villanova - still a top 25 team?
It is a bad loss only if they lose 2 more and don't win the CAA. Trust me, Tribe fans are expecting to go there dominate the game for 53-54 minutes and then go conservative and allow Villanova to drive the length of the field in the last 2 minutes to win at the end. It is what has happened the last ...

Re: CAA Week 13 Prediction & Playoff Picture Thread
Gulp, the Tribe is already 0-3 this season against the top 3 offenses. Granted, we could and perhaps should have beaten Villanova and JMU, but it doesn't inspire great confidence knowing the #4 offense is coming into town this Saturday. Guess the offense and special teams better score some points. N...
