Re: Who is Chadron State and Why Are They Not D-1?
Why isn't Chadron DI? I'll tell you why. It's a piss ant little school five miles from the middle of nowhere in an area of the country non-existant to commercial flights. Funny story, I was in Nebraska on business in the early 1990s and had to meet someone on the Chadron campus. I blew the meeting b...

Re: So Appy State goes down...
Shouldn't the real question for App. State at this point be who stands in Wofford's way of winning the SoCon? It's hard to be a 1 or 2 seed in the playoffs if you don't win your conference. There's a lot of football still to be played, but I'm guessing App. State was an early final exam for the Terr...

This is NDSU's second home game in a row against a Southland team. Do the Bison have home and home contracts with these schools?

Re: Biggest Upset Ever: Appy State beats Michigan!!!
That is some funny shit. I love the credits at the end. They would have thanked the App. State waterboy if they knew his name. That's a great win by App. St. One, I'm sure those kids will remember long after they've forgotten about winning national championships in FCS. We were cheering them on in M...

That East Ill. team looked pretty athletic. last night. They had a 6'6" receiver, called him "big boy," with 111 yards at the half.

Re: Bearkats Survive Ugly Night
It's not as bad as the final score. If Sam takes care of the ball and makes more than 5 of 12 third down conversions, this game looks much more lopsided. The Bearkats will be fine.

Re: 5 Games I'm Keeping An Eye On--9/1/2007
I'm looking at that Blue Hen/Tribe opener in the CAA and thinking it could be the game of the week.
followed by Portland State at McNeese.
So. Dak State at W. Ill.
Albany at Colgate
Indiana State at Indiana is a possible upset.

Re: 9 DAYS
How many of the players on your team come from one-parent families, Greatapp? Reading the bios you post got me thinking that there's a lot of fatherless kids in college football today. That goes for every school, not just ASU.

Re: Montana has a starting QB!!!
How upset could Cole be that they brought in a transfer the year he was a soph. The guy wound up playing as a freshman when physically he wasn't ready. That kid needed to put on some meat. He did a nice job last year fillng in, but considering the number of sacks Swogger endured, I don't think Cole ...

Re: Rate the media coverage of your football team
This is one of those issues you really can't answer until you hit the road with your team and see what kind of coverage other schools are getting. Both Montana schools get better coverage than just about every team I've ever seen. Hell, when whe played Marshall in their hometown for the championship...

Re: UND and USD joining Great West
Any chance that Western or Central Washington would venture to Division I? Central Washington? Ellensburg? Nobody lives out there and it stinks, doubt central goes anywhere. Every now and then Central at least talks about moving up. Western on the other hand would probably drop sports for lack of t...

This sentence makes it sound like D.D. Terry died. Is that the case?

Re: 5 Questions for the SoCon
I almost hate to see the veer go away. GSU always had kids who were quick, smart players that weren't necessarily what the IA guys were looking for, I'm talking O-line in particular where a sub 300 pound guy with a case of the quicks can really do something in an option scheme. And who the hell sees...

Re: Division I puts a Moratorium on Membership
Big deal. The NCAA has been rolling over on its rules for IA, now FBS, membership for the last 15 years. I can't count the number of times I was sure Idaho was going to get gassed for lack of attendance, poor facilities etc. So now the NCAA puts on its angry mommy face and threatens to count to thre...

What's GSU's offense going to look like this year. Are they still evolving into a passing team, or is the option making a comeback?

Don't they do a separate poll for coaches? I'd like to read what the coaches think without the media votes clouding things up.

Re: Predict the SoCon
The year was 1995, Boro. And the short answer is no. GSU was a much better program than that second round playoff score would indicate. They finished the year 9-4 and played their last four games of the season on the road. 9/2/1995 South Carolina State 27-12 W 9/9/1995 @Middle Tennessee 34-26 W 9/16...

Re: Predict the SoCon
App State Furman Wofford GSU Elon Citadel UTC WCU Honestly, this whole best conference in fcs garbage has to stop until the bottom half of the SoCon quits pissing their jocks. The top three are always contenders. But I haven't seen a truly balanced SoCon since ETSU made the playoffs 11 years ago. T...

Re: UD adds final pieces
I don't know why everyone gets so hot and bothered for transfers. Montana usually has three or four, most notably at quarterback. We've had a couple more in the last couple years, but a lot of these players don't end up being better than the kids recruited as preps. In the last 10 years, we've had t...

Re: Ideal FCS conference for your school?
No offense to the current Big Sky members, but I'd give anything for the days when the conference was comprised of schools that were the flagship universities for their states. They garnered more attention from their fans and weren't an afterthought when it came to funding from their state governmen...
