Re: UALBANY Proposed Stadium Flyover-Shovel Ready?
Stadium coming along nicely danefan... will it be ready for the first home game? We have a family friend's son who just transferred in to Albany. I am going to try to catch a home UAlbany game this year. Love to see it in the new stadium.

Re: Team Dropdowns
Just looked it up, Richmond did play in the '84 playoffs...the lost to Rhode Island in the 2cd round. I'm not sure what scholarship level they were at in 1984 or what level of transition they were in. URI in the Mid 80's was a dynasty though....

Re: Team Dropdowns
I saw Richmond play UMass in 1984 when they were in transition of dropping down from I-A. I don't think they were eligible for the playoffs, but I'm not sure. They were awful good though....There must be a "Marshall" rule somewhere for dropping down a division with regards to the playoffs.

Col Hogan...good to see you lurking around still... Great for New England FCS football...I'd like to see us play one regional FCS foe a year on a regular basis...Was suprised a bit when they announced it as UMass stated they didn't want to play an FCS game ever...I'm sure scheduling played a part in...

Shortlist for Head Coach @ UMass
Okay guys & gals.. Who is our new head coach next year? It's obvious that Morris is not the guy. I'm not a hater, but i don't see UMass winning the next 6 of 7 for him to keep his job. He's had too many chances with way too much talent... My shortlist....discuss. 1. Sean McDonnell, UNH. What he ...

Re: HALF: Old Dominion-25 Massachussetts-12
Morris should be fired at halftime. No f****** excuse for that. Poor coaching, team was flat coming out and ODU looks like the want to be there to play. UMass does not. How can UMass be flat coming out in front of 20k people on a Saturday night? WTF..Kudos to ODU. I'm almost hoping we get blown out...

Re: UMass @ Old Dominion
Should be a good game to watch. Umass will be licking it's wounds from the pounding from BC. Our strength is running the football and our run defense. BC did not hurt us with the run...Our passing defense and passing offense have been suspect this year. If ODU can effectively move the ball through t...

FYI... I was looking for the CAA Helmut schedule and could not find it but came across a gem @ http://www.mghelmets.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;. They have FBS and FCS schedules by conference and are hyperlinked to each other. You can download and edit them if you wi...

Re: UMASS goes to the MAC...
YSU makes sense in the colonial, especially when Maine and/or UNH leave the conference. Maine/UNH needs another northeast regional team added for them to stay in the CAA. (Stonybrook/Albany) UNH seems more committed to football than Maine, but I'm not sure how long they could hold out if they had to...

Re: UMASS goes to the MAC...
Just read that the MAC has a great relationship with the Big 10 teams for scheduling. We may see more Big 10 teams than local regional I-A teams. I'm sure it will all come down to $, but we may end up seeing a Big 10 team every year on our schedule. Would love to get Ohio St/Michigan/Wisconsin with ...

Re: UMASS goes to the MAC...
It will be interesting to see the schedule in 2012 and beyond. We are playing BC this year and we have UConn scheduled for next year. I'm sure we have kept the Uconn game for next year. Most schools have their schedules laid out for a couple of years. If dates work, I'm sure UConn and BC will look t...

Re: Predict the attendance for the first Frisco NCG
http://s3.postimage.org/1pkopvebo/Pizza_Hut_Park.jpg The park seats 21,193. I just checked for tickets and the best available are section 104, which is about on the 35 to 40 yard line. Looks like those sections can handle about 1k per section. I would say probably 6k sold so far. I would think 12-1...

Re: UMass to FBS? Next year?
I'm curious about any transfers this year from any FBS schools...If they transfer b4 LOI day and we havn't announced the move to the MAC, or if we have announced the move, are they eligible to play in 2011? We won't be eligible for any playoffs or the CAA title in 2011 due to the Marshall rule, but ...

Re: UMass to FBS? Next year?
I don't think MAC officials visit if they were waiting on Temple. From reading past articles on MAC expansion, they were looking at adding 1 or 2 schools. If UMass goes to the MAC and Temple stays, they don't add another team. If Temple leaves, then they add another school in the east-most likely an...

Re: UMass to FBS? Next year?
I've been following this the last 2 weeks or so. There has been numberous chatter on some message boards and blogs the last 2 weeks, much more than normal. UMass' hand has been forced with this issue. UNH & Maine may possibly go to a lower level of football, URI has already done so. Villanova ha...

Re: Congrats To Rhode Island
Thanks Travis. To go from 1-10 to 5-6 and defeat three nationally ranked teams including the defending national champs is quite a big step up in the right direction. It appears that Coach Trainer is building a competetive team. I hope this continues next season and into the future; no matter what c...

Please, anyone looking for a coach, take ours..
Yes, the natives are restless. I've got to rant, our HC at UMass has got to go. Way too much talent the last 2 years and to be at .500. We can play our butts off at Kansas State and Michigan, have a big win here or there, but we aren't consistant. That is purely on the coaches. I never liked the Mor...

Top 5 CAA. Looks right to me. :thumb: Oh yeah, A 3-2 Villanova is better than a 4-0 App or a 5-0 Jax St....why? Because they're a CAA team? That's a crock of **** And tiresome. It's just a predictor, CM. It has flaws, same as the GPI for FCS wich will be out tomorrow. William and Mary i...

Possibly Mark Whipple, OC at UMiami. Ex-Steelers QB Coach and UMass HC. He will be a Head Coach at FBS next year. Wether or not it's Minnesota, not so sure.
