Re: PAC 12 BASKETBALL TOURNEYS MOVING
I don't like it. 1. Splitting the tournaments loses the logistical economies of scale. When you co-locate the tournaments, you only have one set of location staff, equipment, etc., to worry about. Essentially, you need one on-site conference team to rig and secure and one fleet of trucks to transpo...

Re: 3 Most Memorable Sporting Events You've Attended
1. 2011 NIT Semi-Finals at Madison Square Garden. Washington State got absolutely destroyed by Wichita State in the game, but the whole trip and experience was just unbelievable. WSU flew my friend and I out for free and put us up for free in the Mariott Marquis for the week. 2. 2006 Gonzaga vs Wash...

Really? Gus Johnson is the man (though I will admit that I like him a lot better for basketball than for football). The Gus Johnson soundboard http://www.gusjohnsongetsbuckets.com/ is one of the best things out there.danefan wrote:This dude is the worst play-by-play guy ever.
Chillax man and call the game.

Sloppy, sloppy game so far, 5 turnovers in the first half. LaMichael James became the first player in Pac 8/10/12 history to have 3 seasons with over 1500 rushing yards.

Re: Mike Leach to Wazzu
A reason that our AD opted to hire Leach is because our fan base needed a boost, lots of apathy had set in around Pullman and I don't think anyone had been excited about WSU football since the early 2000s. After announcing his hiring yesterday WSU sold 750 new (i.e. not people renewing) season ticke...

Craig James killed 5 hookers while at SMU (allegedly).
Also: I don't think I can put into words how excited I am for this hire.

Re: NAIA Playoffs -- State of ND vs State of MT again....
Yeah, D-III is better. My school was 4-0 against NAIA while I was there. Both of our National Championships in football were from NAIA, and when they moved to D-III the competition jumped drastically. The level of competition is better, but the parity is still a total joke. Mount Union or Wisconsin...

Re: 2011-12 Big Sky Basketball
I saw last night that in the two games that EWU has played against Gonzaga and Oregon they had 9 players foul out. Pretty incredibly they have been able to hang around with both of those teams with that sort of foul trouble.

Re: 2011 NFC West Thread
Yeah, pretty much met my expectations too, and I think 4 or 5 wins is probably where we finish. We still have 1 game against Arizona and two against St. Louis, and we aren't a truly terrible team, just a below average one, so I wouldn't be surprised to see us win one against Dallas or Washington or ...

Out of 35 QB's that qualify for the new QBR Tavaris ranks 27th. His stats are less than impressive as well compared to his Minnesota days. He actually as a worse TD:INT ratio, and his YPC is up less than a half yard and YPA is up less just .1 yard. This season doesn't top his best season as a Vikin...

Had to go with Michigan State at Nebraska, I just don't see any of the other games (with the exception of Florida/Georgia which doesn't matter at all in the grand scheme of things) being close.

If we beat Stanford, do we play Wisconsin in the Rose Bowl? Or does Sparty survive? Not sure I'd want to see the Ducks vs Bucky :? I think Wisconsin and MSU are in different divisions, so who knows who is coming out of the B1G at this point. Stanford vs Oregon is going to be a great game though, bo...

Just drive down to Pullman and watch the Cougs play against Stanford instead. You might get to see Andrew Luck set a couple of NCAA passing records.

Re: Texas, Texas Tech, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State to the Pac-1
The biggest hiccup is going to be with Texas and their "Longhorn Network" for sure. It sounds like Scott is offering Texas (and Texas Tech by extension) a revenue sharing deal nearly identical to that of USC/UCLA with regards to the Pac-16 Texas network. As a big fan of the Pac-12 the only...

EWU vs Montana in Missoula is always close, no exception today. I'm sure both teams are kicking themselves for mistakes throughout the game. Glad we came away with this one, tough for EWU to make the playoffs this year after starting 0-3

Honestly, for how terrible our O-Line looked, Jackson wasn't too bad. James Carpenter has to be the biggest bust of the 2011 draft at this point, taking him instead of Gabe Carimi just looks asinine at this point.clenz wrote:Ah...I looked....he did better than I though, but still sucked shit.

In semi-related (Pac-12) news: Washington State is up 35-0 on UNLV at halftime. Thank God we're no longer the worst team in the FBS.
