Re: PC police strike again
Were the PC police responsible for Helen Thomas's forced retirement? :? Seems like there were quite a few Conks wielding their PC police badges a few months ago. :coffee: http://www.championshipsubdivision.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=15964&hilit=helen+thomas" onclick="window.o...

Re: Is this the Left's answer to the Tea Party...
Okay, so probably not but this guy is a character. NY gubernatorial candidate Jimmy McMillan is running as the THE RENT IS TOO DAMN HIGH PARTY. Wonder what their (his-think he's a one man party) platform is? http://swampland.blogs.time.com/2010/10/19/jimmy-mcmillan-candidate-for-ny-governor-doesnt-...

Re: Appalachian State to explore FBS move
If that's the "tell", then you have ASU, JMU, Liberty, and JSU, that's a solid four. Get some others to jump in like UD, ODU, UNCC, Ga State, Ga Southern and maybe a defector or two from SBC or CUSA and you have yourself I nice league. In what way? In a competitive, regional football kind...

Re: Appalachian State to explore FBS move
Wow let's review the math if those numbers are accurate, without Montana and ASU averaging $370K of revenue per playoff game (average of 4 per year the last 5 years) that takes the yearly playoff revenue from $2.5M to $1.0M. That is a 60% reduction in revenue. Then add back the revenue from whomeve...

Re: Appalachian State to explore FBS move
Word on the street is that Liberty will be FBS soon. One of my sources there did indeed confirm the stadium upgrades were mainly done with the idea they would move up. I would be surprised if Liberty is FCS in 5 years. That's been my thought with ASU too. Why do the $50 million enhancement to stay ...

Re: Chattanooga at Jacksonville State
The APR penalties and reduced practice time taking a toll methinks. Chatty could be scary good next year. Tough break two weeks in a row. Ouch. :( Yeah, might be something to that. How many scholarships are they down, 10? Just wearing down in the 4th. Still letting someone get behind you for a 72 y...

Re: Chattanooga at Jacksonville State
They don't have a field goal kicker. They already missed a chip shot one earlier... and of course missed a bunch of XP's last week against us. What probably higher % to try to get 1st down. True, but at the 10..you're looking at what..a 26 yard field goal. Gotta go for it I think. Cannot believe he...

Re: Landmark Poll On Same Sex Marriage
Question for the legal scholars here, does this ruling open the door for polygamy? Heard that on the radio and just curious. I am not at all a proponent of polygamy or necessarily an opponent for gay marriage (although - an equivalent civil union would probably be more palatable for many) just thoug...

Re: GM investing $500M in Mexico plant
I feel like we're talking in circles here, but it's both. Unions in the US add more to the cost of wages the unions in other countries. And yes (this is the part I was referring to when I suggested you have a comprehension problem) this is due in part to poor management, so i'm agreeing with your m...

Re: GM investing $500M in Mexico plant
BTW, I am not opposed to all labor unions. They do still serve a purpose in keeping employers honest and doing what's generally right for their employees. Saw this first hand in a previous career where the threat of a union pressured management to do the right thing on their own eliminating the need...

Re: GM investing $500M in Mexico plant
Interesting question, why do think? Another example of poor management. They don't want to risk upsetting the "delicate balance" with labor in the US. Mexican autoworkers are unionized and yet still much cheaper than US union members . If the big 3 went with non union workers they would h...
