Of course I take your point that there is more to the EWU offense than Taiwan Jones, but would you not agree that Jones is the biggest difference between this year's Eagles' offense and last year's?
I'll agree with that. We were a bit one-dimensional last year.

Re: TOP 10 STADIUM EXPANSIONS

Dude, Montana State's looks friggin sweet! Yea, but it is something like a 20 year plan. That picture is the final phase, I think of 6 phases? As awesome as it was when it was announced, I think reality is setting in and 20 years is a long, long time to get up to what, 24,000 when it is finished. I...

As dangerous as Jones is, to be honest, I think we are still more dangerous through the air. Nichols is a very dangerous QB and is more mobile this year than in the past.

:thumb: You guys keep thinkin' you're winnin' the dick-measuring contest by getting guaranteed losses every year and playing the rest of your games in half-full stadiums, we'll keep selling out our stadium, winning the BSC, going to the playoffs and making runs at national titles. Re: Weber State @ EWU Game Thread.

Other than the Cal game, this will be the first real test for EWU's defense against a quality FCS opponent. Our defense pitched a shut-out against UNC, held ISU to 3 (FG off a turn-over with vry good field position), but gave up 30 to Sac State. Again, a couple of those scores were due to turn-overs...

Re: Big Sky Power Rankings 10-5

So everything is moving along, nothing is changing, all is going to plan and life is boring. Then this last week hits and everything is turned upside down. Montana State, showing almost no offense, gets the spark going on the road against Weber State, and dead and buried Northern Colorado threw a b...

I thought SIU was 2004, (we lost by a FG to national runner-up UNI first round 2005), and McNeese was a #2 seed in 2007.
SIU was '04. It was Meyer's Junior year.

Re: Pat Paschall #1 RB in FCS

I have heard Jones has 4.22 speed......any weight in that? He certainly looked like he did in that 96-yarder. I would think he'd be playing Pac-10 ball with that kind of speed. :coffee: Me too, although that's exactly how I have heard him described as having......."Pac-10 speed." But from...

Re: Interesting Take on EWU Appeal

I wouldn't put much faith in the "passive approval" aspect, It appears to be more in the "wishful thinking" category. The NCAA imposed the ban and nothing says they have to repeatedly cite the ban for it to be in effect. It's been said all along that nothing would happen with th...

It also means you have real speed, like Deji Karim. Speed and agility. The only person who ever really beat him when he ran track in HS... he's the starting back for Cal. You might have heard of him... Jahvid Best. I have heard Jones has 4.22 speed......any weight in that? He certainly looked...

Before the season, I saw somewhere that Jones was timed running a 4.22 40. I didn't believe it until I actually saw some of his runs. That 96 yarder against ISU was unreal. :o

That game was ugly. I was glad to see the majority of our starters pulled out in the 4th. That turf is just horrible, we always seem to come out of there with injuries. Luckily, seems like we fared well in that department. :thumb:

Re: Jones (EWU) vs McClintock (PSU)

Jones is hands-down the best back in the BSC right now. Albeit, most of his performances have been against inferior opponents. His numbers will probably go down some when we start playing the better half of the conference. It will be interesting to see if teams start to try to load up to stop him, b...
