Re: 2020 General Election

That's okay, we had folks (and some post here) that Trump's election was fraudulent and illegitimate and that Trump was a Russian asset. If we can survive 4 years of "the Resistance" I'm sure we can survive whatever the Trumpkins will come up with for the next 4 years. We will survive...but we migh...

Re: 2020 General Election

Eh, and it was easily beat back. So much for the fragility of democracy or, as we were told in 2016, the death of the Republic. The doomsayers must be besides themselves that all of Trump's machinations and temper-tantrums are, in the end, so feckless when confronted with the systems of government ...

Re: Good and Bad news from Exit Polling

What is the point of polling if it isn't accurate? We give them the benefit of having a +/- range but we know for a fact that the pre-election polling was not close for many states. Why would post election polling be more accurate? I think BDK has plenty of ground on which to stand to say why bothe...

Re: New AP Poll

So I kinda-sorta "get" Liberty dropping out after taking their first L by one point to NC State. But how in the heck does Coastal drop a spot after rather decisively handling App State to remain undefeated?!? I figured that win coupled with Wisconsin dropping like a rock would help CCU, but that's ...

Re: The Bogus "Playoff"

Hey, they had their chance. NC State is just a run of the mill, blah middle of the pack ACC team this year. If you want to be considered for the playoffs, you have to beat that team. Heck, you're mocking the 6-5 P5 schools that just barely qualified for a bowl and this year that could be the same NC...

Re: Blazers trade for Covington

Simmons was/is the best perimeter defender on the Sixers when Covington was here. And again, Covington's best contribution on defense is when he's off the ball. He's not a terribly good on the ball defender and that got exposed during the playoffs. With the Sixers, he was never a clutch shooter, an...

Re: Lame Duck Trump

Ideally, it would be nice to have your cabinet members involved in the transition information transfer. Has Biden appointed anyone yet? I can understand the argument of wanting to know the issues before choosing the cabinet member for the sake of getting the best match to the situation. But it shou...

Re: Coronavirus COVID-19

Thanks. I'd be more worried about the lasting effects from COVID. Rose is pretty strong so I'm not worried. DHEC does free testing and it took all of 30- 40 minutes to drive to the site get the test and then drive home. Personally, I'm sick and tired of the masks, the worry, the panic, everything. ...

Of course - heck, I'm still bringing up Gore refusing to give in until he was literally out of options (and then saying he was mad that he was out of options) and that was 20 years ago. In 2040 we'll still be talking about how Trump threw a temper tantrum like a toddler and dragged out the election...

I like what the Sixers did. Got rid of the Horford contract (and the Horford player). Got rid of Josh Richardson who didn't really seem to fit and didn't seem to be anything particularly well. Picked up two experienced and good shooters in Green and Curry, and even picked up a young project in Ferg...

Re: What to expect from the Biden-HArris administration?

Right after finishing my masters, my first job was as an inspector on a civil project (dam rehab). One of the things I had to do was review pay estimates (Davis-Bacon wages). The laborers were making virtually the same as me. There's nothing wrong with learning a trade. With a bit of dedication one...

Re: 2020 NBA Draft

A draft class with 5 All-Stars is generally considered a "good" draft. Most of the kids will be some sort of role players with one or two really good years in the league. And some will wash away. Sadly, past drafts are littered with "can't-miss" players who, for one reason or another, missed, eithe...

Re: Blazers trade for Covington

I'm not a huge RoCo fan - I think he's given more credit on defense than he really deserves (I don't think he's a good on the ball defender at all, where he shines is off the ball, which is useful but doesn't override his inability on the ball). I also don't think highly of him as an outside shoote...

Re: Blazers trade for Covington

Blazers have wanted Covington for awhile now. Funny with all the talk about Westbrook and Harden that Covington was the first to leave the Rockets' dumpster fire. Why didn't they draft him coming out of college or sign him as a free agent. He could have been a impact player for them when he is on of...

This is ridiculous. At this point those of you who have continued to support the Republican Party need to repent. I thought you said all of those folks need to die or something like that. Or is it like the Inquisition, you want them to repent, and then die? I worry about you, JSO, you're not very s...

I should point out as well that the comments from Edwards regarding his love of football more than his love of basketball could be alarming. A 50% reduction in my chances of being infected is pretty good. I'm surprised if it's 50% (the conclusion says "did not reduce...by more than 50%" so without having read your full link I'm not certain what effectiveness they claim). That's better than I'd have expected. My feelings on masks has bee...

Masks are now required indoors wherever people from different households are gathered — even if they are physically distant, the state health secretary, Dr. Rachel Levine, said Tuesday. The order applies to every indoor facility, including in private homes, but Levine acknowl...

Re: What to expect from the Biden-HArris administration?

Hey, I'm all in favor of free college, I just wonder 1) if the amount of money you need to do this is even there and 2) are all public 4-colleges going to agree on their costs that need to be covered by such a program. Devil's always in the details. Frankly, though, I would much rather we have a na...
