New Glanville expression

Oregon Live has not posted this to a link yet, but Coach Glanville came up with a new expression when describing Friday's PSU practice. I guess it was kind of bad. In response to Jim Beseda's question about how Friday's practice went (Oregonian, 8-15-09) "Every camp has 'wow' days, but you know...

Re: Western State vs. Montana 9/5 1:00

Wow, impressive! Although the last time Montana played Oregon State, everyone beat up on the Beavers (1996). And your reference to the Oregon game sounds pretty similar to when Dickenson was QB (Ducks have not been all that great until recently either). Everyone in the Big Sky does have what could ...

Re: Western State vs. Montana 9/5 1:00

I don't think its a cliched lie, I think its the truth, Montana is afraid of getting throttled like they did in the past. What's cliche is the excuse you use, "oh we don't need body bag games like that", that's fine if you don't but Western State? I've never followed their program extensi...

Re: Western State vs. Montana 9/5 1:00

Someone tell me again, what is the difference between playing a team like Western and playing Carroll College? Are the Griz scared of the NAIA national champs? I would think a game against Carroll would still be an easy victory for the Griz and would generate more interest in Montana than a game aga...

Re: Five people to help EWU beat PSU

Haven't you guys lost 3 straight to them? :coffee: Indeed we have. The first of the 3 was in 2006 after we graduated 14 starters and had a very young team. The last two have been by close margins. We beat them the 3 years before that, so what? Excuses, excuses, excuses. Graduation hits every...

Pretty good. How many of those did you share with the certain Missoula school? No matter, it still is better than us. I still live in the present and I still want to know why EWU cannot beat a Glanville coached PSU team? Everyone else seems to be able to, why can't the Eagles? It seems, if me...

Re: What's the biggest Big Sky game in 2009?

Do some research. EWU Went 10-1 in 1997, with 8 D1 wins. That was the year we made it to the National Semifinals in the playoffs, losing to Youngstown State. Portland State wasn't I-AA until '98. If they did count as a Div. I win, then I guess I was wrong. My bad, maybe. edit. Now I'm confused. PSU...

Re: What's the biggest Big Sky game in 2009?

First big game for each Big Sky school this year (my opinion)... EWU---9/26 at Sacramento State---An opening conference road win for the Eagles would start this troubled year off right and get all the fans thinking about a special season. ISU---10/3 Eastern Washington---After a brutal September, Oct...

But seriously, Portland State preview in Oregonian

http://www.oregonlive.com/vikings/index.ssf/2009/08/fall_camp_preview_glanville_wa.html Glanville may try to run the ball more. Funny, that was what we were going to do last year. Anyway, some new Glanville quotes, some good, some not so good. Sounds like D'Ambrosio is out for the year  . Good ...

Here are my standings predictions which I posted earlier on bigskyfans : 1. Montana ______________ 8-0 _____ 11-0 ____ More of the same from the Griz 2. Weber State ___________ 7-1 _____ 9-2 _____ Run defense is a concern, but the offense looks unstoppable 3t. Eastern Washington __ 5-3 _____ 7-4 __...

Pretty straight forward...Weber cannot win in Missoula and everyone else is at least a step behind those two. Montana sure bet to the playoffs. Weber, not so sure... at Wyoming (L) at Colorado State (L) at Montana (L) at EWU (?) Montana State (?) How do they need to do in these last two games? How a...

Re: Top 5 Reasons Why Portland St. Hasn't Won a Conf Title

We can only hope PSU doesn't have a drought like Weber did of 40 yrs between titles. What I do know about PSU football is they have beaten EWU 3 straight years currently. PSU is 11-8 vs EWU since 1990. PSU has been to more NCAA Tournaments in the last 2 yrs in basketball that EWU has in its school'...

No rivalry because no history. EWU has not beaten PSU since Glanville has arrived. Not in Cheney, not in Portland. Now EWU has scheduled the game for Seattle this year. Where do you want to play next year, Yakima? Why would you want to play your "rival" anywhere other than your own turf? ...

Portland State has the best chance in the conference of surprising because I do not think we are going to do well this year. Right now, on paper, it looks like this game will be the biggest game in the Sky this upcoming season. However, I believe, that the Sky, from top to bottom, has improved, and that every game will be a battle for every team. There are some really talented teams in the Sky, and each of them have a ch...
