Re: Big Sky Predictions 9-19

If we can hold the Griz to just 24 points, I like our chances. Truth is, both teams are due for a breakout offensive game. I'll stay with the points. Conversely, if we give UP 34 points, I don't see any WAY we win. :coffee: :coffee: Glanville is still in charge of the defense. Your boys should have...

Big Sky Predictions 9-19

Hard to believe, even for me, but we head into the third week of the season and I am a perfect 17-0 so far. Now is when things get tough as we head into conference play. Just four games involving conference teams, but three are inter-conference matchups. Montana State and Sacramento State are off th...

Re: FCS Ticket prices

$37 will get you in the lower level of PGE Park near PSU's bench. $22 will get you in the upper level. $12 I believe is the cost of general admission, which puts you behind the end zone, both lower and upper. The corporate boxes are used by various businesses for all PGE events, not just PSU games. ...

Re: Big Sky Power Rankings 9-14

Looks about right, Jalmond, although at this point I would be tempted to put Weber #1 over Montana, but that will all work itself out - which is the beauty of a conference where all the members actually play each other. I was considering co-#1's but I thought that would be the easy way out. Let me ...

Big Sky Power Rankings 9-14

Two weeks of nonconference action and now six teams will start conference play this week. While the nonconference tilts are always exciting, they create a big mess trying to figure out where the teams are. That said, here are the power rankings for the Big Sky this week. I did not take the easy way ...

Re: Jones (EWU) vs McClintock (PSU)

I've never lived in Missouri, but I will wait for Jones to "show me". Until then, I will not place him in the upper reaches of Big Sky running backs this year, especially when he is not doing much better than a seldom used, often injured back. Granted, with your praises before the season, you place...

Re: Jones (EWU) vs McClintock (PSU)

Obviously no one is talking about these two in the same breath as Reynolds (UM) or Smith (WSU) and maybe for good reason. So can we now put to rest this talk about Jones being the next big thing? No, because Jone's has only ever played 2 games at the collegiate level, and neither of which were agai...

Jones (EWU) vs McClintock (PSU)

By comparison, a look at all hype back, Taiwan Jones (EWU) against a back no one talks about, Bobby McClintock (PSU). Against Pac-10 defenses: Jones 4 rushes for 2 yards against Cal McClintock 2 rushes for 2 yards against Oregon State Against lower division defenses: Jones 12 rushes for 122 yards ag...

Re: Southern Oregon (NAIA) at Portland State

You're right, it was sloppy. Is this due to taking them too lightly? Don't know - but we'll sure have to tighten up for Montana. Yes, it's nice to have kicking on firm footing. And the special teams were better. Offense is still struggling to find a pattern - are we going to have to bring Kavanaugh...

Re: Big Sky Predictions 9-12

I'd like to think the first week was a success as far as these predictions went. After all, I ended the week with a perfect 8-0. But really the games were all a no-brainer with the only tough one being Weber/Wyoming. This week the games get a little tough with three non-conference games involving o...

Re: 9/12 Scores Thread

That's a little extreme, IMO. In the end, we only gave up 10 points, on the road, to a pretty talented and high powered offense. That score is NOT indicative of how thouroughly outplayed we were. Two INT's in the end zone, and Davis reciever drops a SURE TD pass in the end zone, plus doesn't conver...

Re: Southern Oregon (NAIA) at Portland State

I may be ignorant, but how do you guys think the NAIA stacks up against D2 or D3? I just remember one year that St. Francis from Indiana beat Indiana State 42-0. Of course, the Sycamores are hardly representative of the FCS, so you know :D I went to an NAIA school in college (Rocky Mountain College...

Re: Southern Oregon (NAIA) at Portland State

Final Portland State 34 Southern Oregon 10 Sloppy game as we had four muffed punts (lost three of them). We did give up a sack and Hubel threw two interceptions. We took a step or two backward from where we were last week against Oregon State. My stats had us with five total fumbles, two interceptio...

Kickoff 1:00 PDT at Portland's PGE Park. Home opener for the Vikings. QB Hubel will start, having thrown for 250+ yards last week against Oregon State. Injured players Woods and McClintock are expected to play. Tuneup for the Vikings before Montana next week and Weber State the week after. First mee...

Re: Big Sky Predictions 9-12

If I can say something in defense of the Bengals that I think is getting overlooked. Last week Oklahoma lost their Heisman winning quaterback. Whereas you do practice a backup, chances are you never anticipate that you will lose not only your quarterback, but your headliner. The Sooners no doubt wil...
