Re: How much will the Fed raise rates?
Yep. But should be at leaat 100 bps though. Every raise they have dine so far has been fae too little. Interest rates should be in tbe same ballpark as inflation, and right now they are still low at 2.25-2.5%, compared to 8.3% inflation. Agreed. They are chasing it but need to get ahead of it Well ...

Re: Shipping Migrants Inland
Agreed as well. Saw Marco Rubio speak about this subject at length at a conference in San Antonio several years ago. He had a terrific, well thought out, comprehensive plan for finally solving the entire issue, from soup to nuts. Of course, no one in politics wants to hear it because the LAST thing...

Re: 2022 Elections Thread
I thought the clown analogy was the real low point. My vote for Senator is clearly in play. No way I'm voting for Mastriani, so I'm definitely voting for Shapiro for governor. But I've yet to hear anything from Fetterman other than where Oz lives. I'm a fan of criminal justice reform but I would li...

So?, The majority don’t show up for their asylum hearings and are ordered deported in abscentia. And for those who do show and are denied, they then get a deportion hearing, which few show up for, and again are ordered deported in absentia. And most will never encounter ICE again; much less be depo...

Re: Shipping Migrants Inland
We have vast amounts of space out West - wouldn't have to send that many to Wyoming to make the Ds competitive... :thumb: The entire world's population can comfortably live in the continental United States, probably even Texas itself. If you took just bodies with 0.4 square meters of space for each...

Re: How much will the Fed raise rates?
Another 75 bps tomorrow? Yup. Inflation is still crazy high, and that's even with energy slightly pulling back (and even that is high versus last year). Again, problem with letting inflation get out of the barn, it's really difficult to rein back in. It's going to get worse before it gets better, a...

Re: Shipping Migrants Inland
Easy to say from the cheap seats in Illinois. You're full of shit as a Christmas turkey, per usual - this is orchard and pasture country. Ten miles from here the town of Cobden came back from the dead thanks to Mexican labor, not to mention the food is at least as good as where you are. I'll trade ...

Re: Shipping Migrants Inland
Some of them are due in federal court back in Texas. Less than 30% of applicants are granted asylum. Of course the add-on question is how many return for their day in court, and what happens to the ones who are not granted asylum or do not return for their day in court? Like I said in another post,...

Re: Shipping Migrants Inland
Is it jobs Americans won't do, or jobs they won't do for **** wages? Moreover...if they don't drive down wages why does the Chamber of Commerce love illegal immigration so much? The People flown to Martha's Vineyard are not illegal immigrants. They are legal asylum seekers. And what Republicans lik...

Lamenting poor Martha’s vineyard, and how they’re not “set up to handle” and house large groups of immigrants. Like Del Rio, TX, McAllen, TX, Eagle Pass, TX, Nogales, AZ, Laredo, TX, or Normandy, Quemado, or Comstock or Pumpville or Dryden or any of 100 other small, poor border towns ARE magically ...

Hornets play at the Panthers this week. My preseason pick was a UNI win but I made a hat wager with a few UNI fans this offseason so come on here and pony up. I know clenzy was one, was the other H15er or U88? Can't remember. Hornets win, you mofos send me a UNI hat. UNI wins, I send you mofos a Ho...
