Re: THE BIG EAST CONFERENCE

Cats 20 game win streak (8 over top 25 teams-no home games) will be tested at Butler this week. Butler was caught looking forward by St John's. Can't be much question about strength of schedule now or who is the best team over this time frame. Only two other undefeated teams left this year. The Big ...

Re: THE BIG EAST CONFERENCE

Villanova seniors Hart, Jenkins and Reynolds have a chance to make history tonight by beating Temple and being the first Big 5 class to go undefeated in Big 5 play. Temple is no pushover as demonstrated by their two top 25 wins already this year, so this should be must watch TV. Or, will it be anoth...

Re: 2R - Villanova @ (8) South Dakota St.

Good analysis. Thanks. Not sure about the linebackers being a push though. All three of Nova's starters are VERY good and they have a Freshman (Wiley) as depth who figures to be a star. Nova's offense has been too inconsistent to pick them for the upset, but if they are able to move the ball this sh...

Re: The #1 team's schedule strength

Pretty good discussion. Here's a portion of an article from the Washington Post circa 2015 that I came across about youth football participation levels. The article goes onto talk about how youth participation in all sports is on the decline. Injury concerns and NFL’s amplified concussion talk not s...

Ding dong! Now, maybe we can get back to the Battle of the Blue actually meaning something. Honestly, who ever gave a **** about that game? You guys are a basketball school anyway. You guys don't care about football and we don't care about Villanova. Tough to make that into a "rivalry". D...

What about Penn State?

Not a rival for Nova. (Naturally, that would be a great win for the program though).

Oops. You're right. Only 4. Still a very nice grab. At a quick glance it appears only the ACC has more in the top 25. The requiem will have to wait for another 4 years I guess.

Re: THE BIG EAST CONFERENCE

No one disagreed that Nova had underperformed in the recent NCAA's. I went back and forth with him a bit on the storied history of Nova's success in the tournament but never disagreed with their recent success or lack thereof. GF's main argument for the last two years is that the Big East sucks and...
