Nichols - 28-38, 380 yards, 4 TD's, 7 carries, 75 yards, 1 TD (455 yards total offense) Breaks the "official" record. Hopefully he gets a few extra games this post season to get closer to Dickensen. Now, like Falkin said go start your own thread about a 15 year old story. :thumb: You don'...

Re: Week 11 Big Sky Predictions (And a Couple of Oddballs)

I remember a headline from an osu - uw game a number of years ago that I think was from the spokesman review and read: "huskies punish sloppy beavers."

I know, not very original but fairly gutsy to use it in the paper.

Re: 11/11 Playoff Predictions

There are numerous DII teams that could regularly beat many (if not all) of the D-I nonscholly or partial scholarship teams. I keep hearing this...stated as fact... As I said, the truth can be proven....I'm waiting for the proof... Otherwise, it's opinion...and as the man said, like an ass hole, ev...

Re: Big Sky Power Rankings 11-9

No, gocats used a projected 4 game winning streak for MSU as a factor for the committee picking a team that's hot while ignoring the fact that EWU would have the same streak and if you go back a couple more games, an even more impressive strength of schedule down the stretch. Again, five out of the...

Re: Big Sky Power Rankings 11-9

EWU would finish with a 4 game winning streak as well, and if you want to compare resumes, 3 of EWU's last four including the last two on the road would be against teams ranked in the GPI top 25 while the Griz would be the only ranked team for MSU down the stretch. In fact, 5 of EWU's final 6 oppone...

And of course dreaming about his aerial battles with the Red Baron Von Woodstock.

Re: Big Sky Power Rankings 11-9

I'm quite certain the players and coaches are not dismissing SUU in any way shape or form and are focusing their attention on stopping the pass. Don't confuse the smack of one rabid homer with how anyone else - epecially the ones who play the game think. (no need to mention names but it rhymes with ...

Re: Strongest and Weakest in FCS

One of the cool things about the GPI is their computer ranking of conferences (I believe it's the only one) Perhaphs we should start a CS.com conference poll. You could balance it by limiting the number of voters through representation, say two voters/conference. That way you would have rival confer...

Re: Playoffs who you want to play, teams you fear.

Our playoffs started three weeks ago. ;) We would most likely play a slc or mvfc and I would rather it be the slc as they appear to be not quite as strong. More importantly I want us in the same bracket as montana. We play very well there and I can make a return visit to fred's ...or is it red's? :D

Re: Playoff Projections- Nov. 8

3 from the Big Sky would be a scheduling nightmare... you have to send two of those three east, and bring someone to Montana... I think that alone is enough to make the committee hesitant. EWU would have to travel very, very far to find a host, as would Weber, and only one of them could go to the S...

Re: Playoff Projections- Nov. 8

If Northern Arizona stays true to form and implodes for the remainder of the season, it is entirely likely that both Eastern Washington and Weber will end the season with 7 DI wins. Tough call, but in this scenario, I do not see the selection committee limiting the Big Sky to only the autobid. Of c...

Re: Playoff Projections- Nov. 8

The same thing occurrs with a 7-4 NAU and an 8-3 MSU with a win against the Griz.

And what if MSU is in the mix with an 8-3 EWU and a 7-4 Weber?

Native's right - coin toss.

14-3 and 38-28 against an Ivy and Big South are hardly better than 12-10 against a down ISU. At least Idaho State has a National Championship banner hanging in its stadium and comes from a conference that fully funds scholarships. Illogical would be describing a team from a power conference (no mat...
