Depends on how you define an ignorant vote. If it's voting your own self interest (which I believe many successful Republican voters do) than if your poor, isn't a vote for the Democratic Party smarter?
Ok I guess we're about to swerve completely off topic but I'll answer. Not really looking at it in terms of whether or not it is "smart" for an individual to vote a certain way based on self-interest. Actually when I've talked/written about that in the past it's least educated and also lower IQ voter. To some extent those things coincide. Not entirely but to some extent. I'm using that convention again where you define above average as those more than one standard deviation above the mean, average as within + or - one standard deviation of the mean, and below average as more than one standard deviation below the mean. When you look at things in those terms I think exit polling strongly suggests the Democratic Party gets the overwhelming majority of the vote among those below the average range of IQ. The bottom 16 percent in terms of intelligence.

But this Trump thing really gives those who say Republican voters are stupid some ammunition.

Andy is correct. There certainly were not "thousands" as Trump claims, but rather dozens.

Here is the Washington Post from Sep 18, 2001:
In Jersey City, within hours of two jetliners' plowing into the World Trade Center, law enforcement authorities detained and questioned a number of people who were allegedly seen celebrating the attacks and holding tailgate-style parties on rooftops while they watched the devastation on the other side of the river.

So is voting you're own self interest smarter or not?
Not necessarily. Depends on what kind of person you are. Like you might vote against your own immediate self interest because you believe that doing so will be voting to preserve the long term interests of those who come after you. Like, for instance, you might vote to phase out social security and medicare because you believe they are unsustainable programs that will eventually result in a collapse.

Or say you're an environmentalist and you believe that climate change will cause a catastrophe. Say you're old enough so that you're not going to be around when you think the catastrophe will happen. You might vote against your own economic interests in order to preserve the future of the planet.

That sort of thing.

As a general matter, you might think that voting in your own material self interest is just morally wrong.

It's hopeless. I was doing stuff in the kitchen today and had the TV on. Don't even remember what channel. Probably Fox or MSNBC. And they went through this thing where they were getting like "snapshot" comments on trump. And this woman goes, "He speaks the truth."

No, he does not. This is really, really bad.

See, this is why I am sort of pulling for Trump. He wouldn't do any worse than Hillary, and it would piss off Democrats and Southerners. That is fucking winning! Same deal with Christie. In fact, I want those two on the ticket.

He may be full of shit much of the time, but he DOES speak the truth about certain important things...like campaign finance. He's far more honest than the other candidates when it comes to that.

As far as I can tell the polls say that Trump has support in the South. In fact the thing I've been hearing from the talking heads is if he isn't stopped in Iowa and or New Hampshire then he's going to move into the South where he's going to do really well.

Yes he's a complete lying sack of steaming horse sh!t - but ya, who running isn't..?
But I agree also there is likely nothing he could do worse than Hillary

For me it comes down to the entertainment factor
and he is damn entertaining - in the worst possible way - but still :notworthy:

Didn't happen. The muslins are being persecuted. They love America and whatever it stands for.
