Is that to avoid getting shot by gangs and drug dealers in the surrounding streets? :suspicious:
A paraeducator works in a special ed classroom supporting teachers, either as a formal TA or in a one-on-one role with students who require that kind of assistance. Depending on the classroom, it can either be a really easy job, or one you want to quit on the first day. I've only been doing this since November, and I've already experienced both.
Good for you.

It seems like Hometown Buffet hasn't been able to adapt to society's changing tastes, so it will suffer until it makes the necessary adjustments or go bankrupt (a great example of a place that was recently able to reinvent itself is Olive Garden).

It's really the same in any sector. I know it hurts when people lose their jobs and entire factories shut down, but people, towns, and companies need to understand that things don't just stay the same. We're competing in a globalized and ever-changing environment thanks to technology. More than ever, you have to be prepare to adapt and change with the times.
Just one problem with that, Trip. Obama declared the recession to be "over" in national terms, and completely ignored the regional aspects, as if the Left Coast doesn't matter in his IL-HI world. We're still paying over $2/gal for gas at most places, and many other prices (dependent on fuel prices, of course) are still sky high. Unemployment is through the roof out here, and he doesn't freaking care because it doesn't fit the progressive narrative.

$1.49/gallon here. Filling the truck for $25 is like getting a raise. :thumb:

You need to think about leaving CA. You have much bigger problems than expensive gas and high unemployment - like 40,000,000 people and not much water. C'mon out to southernmost Illinois, where things don't change much. You won't get much of the boom times, but when things go to shit everywhere they don't change much here. Land is cheap and the cost of living is favorable.
You matter. Unless you multiply yourself by c squared. Then you energy.

Naw its SoCal that has the water issues. And why would anyone with a brain leave a progressive state (i.e. high income tax) for another one? :dunce:

If I would decide to move to some shithole backward ass bumfuck nowhere place like Southern Ill I would move to a state with much lower taxes.

Actually, NorCal has H2O issues, too, SD. Erosion of the Delta, and the like. But the biggest issue is SoCal trying to steal our water with bogus ideas like the Peripheral Canal that they like to sneak past us every 10-20 years or so. And the Zen Master is the kind of governor to let them get away with it. I can't believe I wrote him in for Veep back in '92. SMH....

That really seems to annoy you. :(

I'm going to fill my bondo truck with cheap gas and mosey on over to the Bernie rally to discuss where to locate the re-education camps we'll be sending the bankers and lawyers to for intensive study of the thoughts of Chairman Bern. :coffee:

Plenty of good Mexican food around these parts (although it doesn’t hold a candle to what I had in SoCal). Sac sucks but it’s a stone’s throw away from a lot of places that aren’t.

Nope. The PC gets around the Delta issue. It's only a matter of when, not if. I can't wait until its built.

Our Mexicans are mostly from Michoucan and cook to die for. Seriously, better than I had in my 30 years in CA.

Left CA 30 years ago but I recall a small place in Roseville called Carmelitas that was real good.
