Please answer the question - When are you going to stop placing 100% of the blame on the electorate and assign some to the narcissistic azzholes who "run" the Republican party?JohnStOnge wrote:They could've picked at least three and probably more of the other Republican alternatives and blown Clinton out. Also would've had a chance to increase their strength in Congress. Instead, they picked a complete looney tune who at this point would have to be characterized as probably losing. And he'll probably harm the Congressional races.John, the Republican electorate was tired and mad at being taken for granted and many of them voted for Trump in response. The Republican elite/establishment created this situation by taking them for granted and are at least 50% responsible for the shitstorm that is Trump. When are you going to stop placing 100% of the blame on the electorate and assign some to these narcissistic azzholes?
Then if he DOES somehow win because Clinton is such a bad candidate they'll have put a nut job into the office.

This. Who attracted that electorate?UNI88 wrote:Please answer the question - When are you going to stop placing 100% of the blame on the electorate and assign some to the narcissistic azzholes who "run" the Republican party?JohnStOnge wrote:

Agreed. The Republican party establishment killed the Iowa Straw Poll because it was supposed to clear the way for Bush but instead it backfired on them. Instead of helping wean the field it let all the losers that didn't have a chance stay in, helping Trump.UNI88 wrote:Please answer the question - When are you going to stop placing 100% of the blame on the electorate and assign some to the narcissistic azzholes who "run" the Republican party?JohnStOnge wrote:

Never. If a person supported Donald Trump during the Republican primaries that is on them. It was a stupid thing to do. They might not all be stupid people. But in each and every case the decision to support Donald Trump was a stupid thing to do.Please answer the question - When are you going to stop placing 100% of the blame on the electorate and assign some to the narcissistic azzholes who "run" the Republican party?

That would be JSO's approach when in reality it should be 'Look guys, it's obvious our electorate is on to us, they're not as naive and gullible as we thought. Maybe we should stop taking them for granted and actually try and be real leaders for the first time in a long time!'kalm wrote:Nice reply!JohnStOnge wrote:

So if you, JSO, were a part of the Republican machine, an operative, an insider... what now is your game plan?
'Look guys, it's obvious our electorate is plain and simply stupid. We need to go out and find some smarter supporters...stat!'

I think I've basically indicated what I would do already in referring to the situation when David Duke was the Republican candidate running for Governor of Louisiana. The Louisiana Republican Party apparatus refused to back him. I think that's what the national Republican Party apparatus should do with respect to Trump.kalm wrote:So if you, JSO, were a part of the Republican machine, an operative, an insider... what now is your game plan?

You're kidding, right? You're actually saying that the Republican electorate voting in a sufficient plurality to make Trump the nominee is supposed to make one think it's NOT naive and gullible?UNI88 wrote: That would be JSO's approach when in reality it should be 'Look guys, it's obvious our electorate is on to us, they're not as naive and gullible as we thought. !'

You're dodging the point. The Republican party establishment helped create a culture where someone like Trump is a viable candidate. And you know what? If you believe the current political system is flawed and corrupt, a vote for Trump is still a smarter vote than for Hillary.JohnStOnge wrote:You're kidding, right? The conclusion based on having had them support Trump is, "They are even MORE naive and gullible than we thought."

JSO...the man in the mirror.

I don't think that I invoke the Bible much in discussing the disfunctional nature of homosexuality. But, though he is clumsy, he did raise an interesting question with the scenario about what you would do if you wanted to preserve a dioecious species.kalm wrote:John, here's a specific example of what I'm talking about. This guys speaks you're exact language when it comes to gays. The Republican party created a culture where this guy could become a district court judge in Texas, a 6 - term congressman, and even try and run for Speaker of the House. It's not...all of a sudden...just Trump.![]()
Watch the entire clip. I find him strangely mesmerizing to listen to.
