America is the 83rd Most Peaceful Country

Post by Ibanez »

Americans pining for a peaceful existence might consider moving to New Zealand, the most peaceful nation on Earth, according to the 2009 Global Peace Index released Tuesday by an Australian-based research group that counts former President Jimmy Carter, Ted Turner and the Dalai Lama among its endorsers.

New Zealand is #1. Of course it is, who do they have to be aggressive towards?

I'm surprised we're that high on the list, given that we're the world's policemen.

Funny thing is, is that if we emptied our jails and let all the criminals go our peacefulness, by this poll, would go up! Not logical, but it would.

Or we could empty the jails, put them on planes and in uniform, drop them off in Afghanistan, and hand them weapons as they come off the plane. A lot of those guys can handle a weapon, they'll take out the Taliban and many of their own in "friendly fire" incidents. It's a win-win, and we're a more peaceful nation. :D

I was thinking we could drop them off in NZ and Aus., they think they are so damn exclusive, they could use some more crime.

It's odd that Oz is peaceful when it was a penal colony. Go figure - there's probably a lesson there somewhere, but I'm missing it.

Being wrong about a topic is called post partisanism - kalm

MAQA - putting the Q into qrazy qanon qult qonspiracy theories since 2015.

It will probably be difficult for MAQA yahoos to overcome the Qult programming but they should give being rational & reasonable a try.

Thank you for your attention to this matter - UNI88

Damn right!!
Actually, I preferred Canterbury or Tui to Steinlager. Steinlager is too much like Heineken, which I loathe. And the All Blacks weren't playing while I was there :( so I watched the Super 14 and domestic league matches. It's amazing how different those two games are! Yeah, they are both rugby, but they are so different.
