None of us had to switch doctors although we did have to change pharmacies when we switched from Premera to Grouphealth this month. Wonder why we're the outlier?
Might just be the size and health of Group Health here in Washington. Good value?

$1200 for a family of four. I can't remember off hand what the deductible is but I know it was similar to our deductible with Premera which wasn't high.

IF you don't have a plan to replace the ACA, why are you repealing it now???

I don't buy that. If I were to truly guess, I'd go with the following:

* the ACA is similar to Social Security in that it requires younger (presumably healthier) people to contribute in order to finance those boomers who are aging and requiring more care.
* Similarly, some folks now required to kick in for insurance had untreated prexisting conditions that they either left untreated or paid for out of pocket. Insurance companies lost money on those customers with ACA, which led to:
* Insurers pulling out of the exchanges in many cases, stifling competition and nearing state monopolies and able to charge what they want.

:twocents:
One addition to your younger people comment - the plan allows young adults up to age 26 to stay on their parent's family plan. So instead of making a 23 year old college graduate purchase his own insurance he can stay on mom and dad's plan. So we need young, healthy people to pay in but we give them a way out of paying.
sounds more like a three year moratorium before the insurers get their shot at the carcass left over from the student loan sharks.

No shit, seems like it would be cheaper if they just change the name from Obamacare to Heritagecare

Because that was one of the main platforms they ran on...and with control of both House and Senate now is probably the only time they could get it repealed. Bottom line its an easy win for the conks.

My question is what will happen after ACA is repealed and no replacement is offered up? Utter chaos in the healthcare/insurance markets?

Just find a way to keep HSA's and I'll be happy. HSA's are a great tax haven that allows you to get 100% purchasing power out of your money on healthcare expenses.

"Trump order paves way for agencies to weaken health law

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - President Donald Trump is ordering federal agencies to undermine Obamacare through regulatory action, a move that could weaken enforcement of the requirement for Americans to buy health coverage and give insurers leeway to drop some benefits.

Trump's first executive order, signed hours after taking office on Friday, directs the federal government to scale back regulations, taxes and penalties under President Barack Obama’s healthcare law, the Affordable Care Act (ACA)......"
