Johnson seemed like a good idea until I saw him interviewed a few times and realized he's not what I expected, and Hillary was....Hillary.
Before you vilify me for my choice, I'd have taken Rubio over Trump. I think Rubio will have his chance later on. Carson seems like a good man, but just too nice to play ball in the big leagues. If Romney had run I'd have voted for him again.

They pyramids do function as granaries in Sid Meir's "Civilization" games, so you can see why Ben would've been so confused.ASUG8 wrote:Yeah, there's that too. And that the pyramids were granaries.AZGrizFan wrote:

And yes, I voted for her simply because she was a woman. Considering a woman was likely to be elected (despite JSO's claims now that it was always too close to call) I was voting in solidarity with all of those who really thought a historic moment in women's history was about to happen. Although identity politics is almost never a good thing, per se, it doesn't mean there isn't a silver lining here and there. And since, for me, I couldn't vote in good conscious for Trump (still think he's a buffoon) or for Hillary (patently corrupt) I was just staging a protest vote anyway. My very first Presidential vote was for Perot, so I'm used to the protest vote.

Re: For whom did you vote?
Nonsense - how could I lose any points by not wanting to vote for Hillary (corrupt) or Trump (buffoon)? And after seeing Gary Johnson clearly have a weed-moment when not knowing what an Aleppo was it was clear no one was worth voting for. Bandwagon jumping - kinda - on what could have been a historic moment was a perfectly acceptable fifth consolation prize in an otherwise wretched election cycle.Cluck U wrote:Yeah, GF lost some major points on that one. Yeah, Gary Johnson won the gaffe vote. Governor of New Mexico not knowing the president of old Mexico? Too funny. That dude spent too much time in co sensimilla shops. Honestly, as much as I dislike Trump... he actually frightens me less as President than Jill Stein. It's close, but she's more batshit, imo. And, perhaps his CEO approach to the presidency may have some success. I couldn't imagine, in any situation, Jill Stein having one iota of success.

The only reason I remain a registered Republican at this point is the only reason my sister is a registered Democrat: to vote in the primaries. If the Republicans ever run a traditionally conservative candidate for POTUS again, I will vote for him/her in a heartbeat. Until then, the hapless Libertarians probably have my vote at that level.CID1990 wrote:Gary Johnson, easily.
The majority of my political beliefs used to lie in the GOP but that party migrated away from me. I'll take the batshit crazy Libertarians over the monied parties, and I don't see anything changing that any time soon.
