Things that make you go hmmm...

Post by HIU 93 »

It never ceases to amaze me how those people who rally against any form of religion or reference to God blindly follow (and hang on to every word of) people like Bill Maher and Rush Limbaugh. "Bill Maher said it. It is the truth. If you disagree you are a stupid, Bible -thumping, conservative, idiot who needs to die. " or "Rush said it. It is the truth. If you disagree you are a stupid, n***er loving, tree hugging, liberal who should be shot to death."

So, you can worship Rush or Bill, but you are atheist? Strange.
"This struggle may be a moral one, or it may be a physical one, and it may be both moral and physical, but it must be a struggle. Power concedes nothing without a demand. It never did and it never will.
... We must do this by labor, by suffering, by sacrifice, and if needs be, by our lives and the lives of others."

Blindly following ANYTHING/ANYONE is never a good idea. Got the Germans far in the 30's and 40's.

Free thinking, from the right, middle, or center is the way to go.

I think its because what the wackos Rush and Maher are saying is happening now and relates to current events, so it can be easy to follow and get sucked in if you don't think for yourself.

But the same think could be said that people follow political parties blindly and say everything about that party is right and if you don;t agree you are a moron.

I think Bill Maher is pretty funny. I especially like his "New Rules" segment. However, I don't follow him, anymore than I follow Jay Leno or David Letterman.

I agree with the "spirit" of this post - in that - following one ideological idea off the cliff to disprove the other is a bit too much of the "One Dimensional Man"

We could use a little Renaissance here in the "ol USofA these days...

1) More Art
2) More Science
3) More love of fellow man

And ultimately more faith: Simply the faith that the God of your understanding will enlighten others to the ways of Peace and love through the shining example of our actions... and ignore our incomprehensible Rhetoric...

or just Nuke 'em... F_ck it... either one works

In it's purest form good citizenship, common sense, and the golden rule comprises the values necessary for a civilized society. Religion and the countless variances of it is a source for good moral standards, but not the only source.

What ever works for one, may not totally flush with the next, but IMO extremism in any form, and for any reason is where the damage is done, and to the point as history has proven that the result is exactly 180 degrees from the intent, when all the dust has settled.

I sincerely hope what you have in quotations wasn't uttered by a human. That is the most ignorant shite.

You guys don't seem like Hippies I know. You talk the talk, but do you live in a commune, own or work at a coffee shop and smoke pot in the back room, live and work in a poor neighborhood or 3rd world nation trying to make a better life for those people? If you are my hats off to you. If you are a hippie-wanabee, at least the thought counts, and my hats off to you also. :D

Being wrong about a topic is called post partisanism - kalm

MAQA - putting the Q into qrazy qanon qult qonspiracy theories since 2015.

It will probably be difficult for MAQA yahoos to overcome the Qult programming but they should give being rational & reasonable a try.
