we're going to need to clear about 600 square miles of old growth to get started

Me and the girlfriend just purchased a brand new home in North Creek (about 20 miles from downtown Seattle)
Construction finished in March - anyway we have AC and it's glorious
BTW:
We also have a mating pair of Pileated Woodpecker's and a pair of adorable Downey's in the neighborhood
We live right along an old growth forest and a fantastic swamp

BTW I don't know about "Rain Bombs" but right now I am a little nervous. I can remember that, last August, I looked at the long term Weather.com rainfall predictions and saw that it was predicted to rain just about every day for weeks. I came on this board and wrote that I thought I might need to build an ark. Then we had that big flood disaster event.
Now here we go again. Things can change but here is the forecast in terms of percent rain chance for tonight then for next 14 days:
And when it rains in South Louisiana in the summertime it's usually not a drizzle. It's usually a series of cloudbursts.
Now, me personally, I think I'm OK in terms of my property. My house is on something called the "Highland Ridge" and we stayed high and dry last August. But having the whole area around me and my family under water was not pleasant.

Well heck. The article did say that Louisiana suffered a "rain bomb" last year but if you click on the link that's supposed to tell you exactly what it is you get a message saying that only Bloomberg professional subscribers have access to it. Guess I'll have to Google it.
Ok I Googled it. What happened to Louisiana was not a rain bomb. What happened to Louisiana was much worse. It wasn't a microburst. It was a steady, widespread rainfall event over many hours. Sustained downpour.

This house is 2,000 sq. ft.
Perfect for a boy and a girl to hang out in
The Palm Springs house is bigger, I think 2,700 and it feels mostly un-used except the kitchen and the pool

Why do you hate the planet?
If fascism ever comes to America, it will come in the name of liberalism. Ronald Reagan, 1975.

Somehow I doubt the PS place needs climate control when they aren't there
