Bill Clinton, algore and many others thought Iraq had WMD's.

By the time the IRAQI war came around, they didn't. Hillary and other Dems voted based on LIES told by BushCheney. Lying seems to come naturally to the GOP
They quit believing it when it was time for the next election cycle in 2004.

Bush got us into Iraq but that's always the Obama apologist opinion for BHO's mistakes. But Bush!!!!! :ohno: Are you going to argue the numbers? Cash for Clunkers, auto bailout, Wall St. Bailout, still at war in Afghanistan.....spending was out of control under BHO. :coffee:
IF Obama did not bail these companies out, people would have lost jobs and people retirements/401k would damaged. He did the right thing.
NO, he did not, crooked companies like AIG, Goldman Sachs and others should not have been bailed out. Taxpayers got stuck paying CEO's errors. They needed to fail, new companies would have risen out of the ashes.

I generally agree with this, because it set a very bad precedent, encouraging the same bad behavior, and there were no reforms to keep "too big to fail" from happening again. Which means when the next economic crisis comes, and the big banks need hundreds of billions, or maybe more than a trillion next time, in bailouts, it will be wash, rinse, repeat.

OK, lets say that Obama did not give these companies any money and they went out of business, then what. What happens when people loose 40% of their 401k. Then they would have blamed him for that.

So think of what would have happened if Obama did not do what he did? BTW I only lost 22% of my 401k :thumb:

My position has changed: I don't mind them bailing out the company as long as the CEO goes to jail.

Politicians and CEO's go to jail at about the same % rate...

:coffee:

It all comes back to how our legal system is devised
Bernie Madoff went to jail ONLY because he stole from a bunch of Politicians and Lawyers
Which is your rule exception right there / Bernie stole from his own
Which is THE line that can't be crossed (apparently)

As long as your stealing from the peasants
You'll be fine

Oh for the good old days when the Red Brigades and Baader-Meinhof would kneecap them in the street and leave them rolling in agony on the ground while the public laughed and pelted them with offal..... sigh....
