I’ve made that position very clear in the past...

I also think the Patriot Act was horrible...and Bush was wrong going into Iraq...

Any further questions???

Under funded pension liabilities do. :coffee:

And your state will be one of the first to reap the consequences of such a situation in the near future. Hope your retirement isn't tied up in a state pension. I sincerely mean that.
My wife's is (SIU) and of course we're worried but at 64 we're here for the duration, regardless. The farm is paid for and we have no other debt save one credit card. We have about 15-20 acres of pasture that are tillable - if necessary it would be easy to find some Mexicans to sharecrop, no joke, and I can still augment the SS check with band work since I hardly sleep anymore anyway. This part of Illinois has been down so long that when things go to shit in the country they won't be a whole lot worse than normal around here. Appreciate the concern.

My retirement goal is a house on a few acres so that I can farm 1 acre for my own needs. :coffee:

Don't forget to figure in the cost of equipment when you're looking, how much comes with the property can be worth a decent chunk of change

The perfect set up.
Being in an unincorporated area is mostly a good thing. Pro tip: Have a big enough clearing to land a helicopter so you won't have to die waiting for an ambulance when you get older.
