Maybe decent alternative would be for the House to file an impeachment complaint to the Chief Justice or SCTUS to open an investigation and he /they decide whether to appoint a special prosecutor to impanel a Grand Jury behind closed doors. Would require an amendment, of course... but, just spitballing. :D
Or maybe the House could get to work and pass USMCA and other legislation that might benefit the American people and let the D presidential candidate campaign against Trump's alleged corruption and let the voters decide whether or not to kick him out of office.
There’s no reason why USMCA can’t be ratified right now. The Dems are wasting time by not walking and chewing gum at the same time.

House members have passed or agreed to 389 bills and 151 resolutions since January, when Democrats took control. But McConnell has left many untouched in the GOP-led Senate, having vowed to block their progressive policies as the "grim reaper" to their bills on issues such as election security and background checks.
It's not that they haven't been doing anything else. It's that we have divided government.

At this point in history what we need is to get the Republicans out of the way. Eliminate the Republican Party as a factor and the country will progress.

Then maybe we can talk about forming a conservative Party that has some semblance of integrity and go from there.
Bullshit. By then, the progtard train will have left the station. And you’ll be on it.

Moreover, a close look at your beloved Politifact article shows that four times as many bills became law when there was “divided government” under Obama, when the GOP controlled the House and the Donks had the Senate.

How outdated? Hillary was SOS from 09-12/13. The federal government should have been long past allowing private email use by 09.

I was working for a small company at that time that hosted e-mail on it's own server and it would go down occasionally. I would work from home when it did and use my personal e-mail address for time sensitive communications. It wasn't ideal but we were a small company with limited resources. I always copied my work e-mail address so that a record was kept of all communications. It's common sense and Hillary and her staff were way too smart not to know what they were doing. To think otherwise is just as blindly partisan, or as John put it stupid, as people thinking Trump was just fighting corruption when he asked for quid pro quo with Ukraine on the Bidens.

And Chizzy, I'm not bringing this up for a "but Hillary" comment but because it's ironic and fascinating how alike the two sides are.

Trump's a fuckup. If he's done something criminal go ahead and impeach him. But Congress is absolutely worthless. We're $23 trillion in debt. We're on a stop gap spending agreement because they can't pass a budget. And yet this is all they can focus on. This whole thing is bullshit and everybody knows it. Have the damn vote. Impeach him. Move it to the Senate where we all know it will die. Could have the whole thing over in 2 days and they could get to something real. But they have to drag it out it out so the fools keep voting for them.

BRAWKKKKKK!
I don't think her motivation was benign but I think it's close to self evident that she didn't know she could use a private e mail server. I also am somewhat familiar with what was going on at that time with respect to Federal rules on that sort of thing and I think we as a country were in transition.
It has already been well established here that you are completely delusional on this matter.

Again, you miss the point. I’m not arguing that the Donks should drop impeachment altogether to get other legislative work done. The sooner that Schiffty process moves through the House plumbing and out the Senate’s septic system, the better. I’m suggesting that they multitask. It’s what we pay those bozos for. Stop being so sanctimonious.

They ought to run impeachment like good judges run civil trials. The process is set for a fixed number of days, and each side gets 50% of the time — down to the minute. If you’re in the midst of a line of questioning and your side runs out of time, tough titties for you.

More Dem nuttiness. Not only must the accused prove their innocence, but apparently hearsay is much better than direct evidence. You can't make this stuff up:
