I thought it was the Tea Partiers that didn't want a Darkie in the White House. :coffee:
That was what you’all on the left claimed.
I went to a few of those parties in 2009. That’s what the people protesting were saying. And that’s what their signs said.

What's wrong with being a "never Trumper"? Why's the lack of blind loyalty a bad thing? I'm serious, I just do not understand why Republicans are eating their own on this. Trump has shown himself to be for you until you are no longer important to him or you disagree with him.

That's not a knock against you, it's a sincere question.
Its not a profile in courage to vote against someone you hate or dislike. Romney has hated Trump since 2015, is still butthurt over being a 2 time failure at running for POTUS, the 2nd time being beaten by Trump, then bitter over not getting the SOS, and isn’t up for re election until Nov 2024 (if he even runs again). Lol at how Romney is now a hero of the left.

There’s probably at least a few other conks out of the 250ish conks in Congress who hate Trump, but didn’t vote to impeach or convict, because there was no violation of any criminal statute cited in the articles of impeachment.
Get over it. Trump is a shady POS. Accept it. Some of us have.

Ok, so you think he should be the 1st POTUS in our nation’s history impeached, convicted, and removed from office, despite no crime cited. Got it.

Plus he provided the model for other damaging personalities such as Sean Hannity. Someone who has been bad for the country should not get that award.
The serial rapist Bill Cosby was given the award.
The serial philanderer Tiger Woods was given the award (don't think he drugged & raped anyone like Cosby)
The drunkard Ted Kennedy was given the award (Limbaugh didn't kill anyone).

But Rush shouldn't have been given the award...MMM ok..
No Rush shouldn't have and in a better world none of those people would have gotten it either. The award has been cheapened and giving it to Rush just cheapens it further.

Your criticism of prior recipients is kind of interesting considering Trump's past. He has a history of sexual assault, mocking the disabled, mocking a dead war hero, paying off a porn star, starting a fake university, etc. Trump supporters should not try and take the moral high road.
Being wrong about a topic is called post partisanism - kalm

MAQA - putting the Q into qrazy qanon qult qonspiracy theories since 2015.

It will probably be difficult for MAQA yahoos to overcome the Qult programming but they should give being rational & reasonable a try.

Truth be told, I thought Obama giving the MOF to Biden was a bit over the top. I hadn't realized the sordid history of others who have gotten the MOF in the past. Rush included, not exactly a fantastic list of people.

Yeah, the hypocrisy is delicious with this one. Go ahead, BDK. Given that you mentioned Woods and Cosby, Trump should award it to himself. He's hardly any better. Hell, he'll be in good company!

I think it's great that the award is so important but now that people are calling BS on it, the defense has changed to " Well, Bill Cosby has one so how great is it.." What crap!

And I agree with GF - Obama giving it to Biden was ridiculous.

Well, thankfully Trump isn't a young man and that means the GOP won't be trotting him out for the next 10-20 years as a superstar of the party. It wasn't until very recently that Bill Clinton stopped being a star attraction at Dem events. At least Hillary's loss led to that positive development.

That may have been the case if Romney hadn't done something very rare among Republicans nowadays by showing integrity. Very eloquent speech too. Profile in courage stuff.
Integrity? No. Spite? Yes.
Yes, that is the Trump Cult talking point. But anybody with a lick of sense who watched him make his statement knows it's nonsense.

Expressions of integrity among Republicans are rare nowadays. Amash did it but he's no longer a Republican. Now we have Romney. It's rare.

BTW, off topic but there's this thing of Trump and his Cult members ragging on Romney for losing when he was the nominee. Look: Romney had a much tougher opponent. Had Trump tried to run against Obama he'd have gotten beaten a lot worse than Romney did.

I've mentioned it before but I'll cite it again. I can't give you a link because as far as I can tell it's not available on line anymore. Seltzer and Company is a A+ rated poll by 538. It took a poll during November 4 - 6 2016. The poll had Clinton up in the popular vote over Trump by 3 percentage points. She won the popular vote by 2.1 percentage points. So the poll was pretty well validated.

The poll had this question:
Hypothetically, if the general election were held today, and the candidates were [Donald Trump for the Republicans] and [Barack Obama if he were allowed to run for a third term for the Democrats], for whom would you vote?
Respondents to the same poll who favored Hillary Clinton by just 3 percentage points said they'd vote for Obama by 12 percentage points. 53% to 41%.

Meanwhile, the Real Clear Politics average on November 8, 2016 had Obama up in the Approval/Disapproval area by 52.4% to 46.6%. Had Trump had to take on Obama he'd have been slaughtered.

I'm sure Romney knows this as well. He knows full well he took on a far tougher opponent (who by the way wasn't under FBI investigation during the campaign). This idea that Romney voted the way he did because he lost a race while Trump won one is nonsense. He did it because he is a man of principle and it's obvious that Trump did what he's accused of and should have been removed from office.

She's not a "follower". It's why she's despised by the AZ DNC and probably won't get reelected.

Muh polls.
It's a popular vote poll. The popular vote polls were correct with respect to Clinton getting more votes than Trump. This particular poll was very close to the actual outcome. And it showed that Obama would've beaten Trump in the popular vote by double digits. By the way, it also showed that Romney would've beaten Clinton by double digits. What that tells you is that Trump benefitted from facing a weak opponent.
