Local Listserv

Post by 89Hen »

Don't know if any of you guys are on your local listserv, but it takes every bit of strength in my body to not reply to the idiots that surround me. I had originally joined to buy/sell some stuff but I stayed on. Now, I'm getting to the point where I read it for entertainment. Mine should be called LibServ.

Wanted to get everyone's take on this non-political issue that was posted recently. For reference, the road in question is a yellow stripe road that probably has a 35mph limit but everyone does 45. It's in VA, but I actually used to work just off this road so am VERY familiar with it. Every day there would be new deer kill on the side of the road.
Hit and Run. At approximately 8pm last night our dog Axel broke through the invisible fence on Arnon Chapel Road. As we were attempting to get him back a car hit him at high speed on the corner of Arnon Chapel Rd and Deerfield Farm Ct going eastbound and drove away without rendering aid. Axel is in critical condition and the car is undoubtedly damaged from high impact with a 120lb Mastador. If anyone has any information please reach out directly.
The responses were just amazing. Jail for the driver, horrible person, etc... I so desperately wanted to tell him that he's much better off NOT finding the car because he would probably end up paying for the repairs.

Invisible fence by a dangerous road? Says to me the owners didn't value their dog enough to keep it safe.

Side question: Can you sell BBQs and Grills on the listserv?

Agreed, dog owners are at fault, they need to be responsible for their animal. No actual evidence that the car in question was speeding (I'm sure it looks high speed at the moment it hits the poor animal). And yes, the dog owners could and should be culpable for damage to the vehicle. And I don't think there's any responsibility for the driver to stop and give assistance in this case. I've run over squirrels before and not once have I turned around to check on it and see if it needs medical attention.

I think, i'm not sure, but I think in SC you're supposed to stop and help a domesticated animal.

The only live animal i've ever hit was a bird...and I didn't realize it until I stopped and saw it in the grill.

8pm. It's dark here. I would have assumed deer, as I'm sure the driver did.

Especially when you consider the size of the dog involved.
