Now the US can't cover Taiwan as effectively.

All speculation, but a lot more interesting take than the nondescript statement CNN put out for the State Department.

Totally believable as everyone knows the Jews worked with the Chinese to unleash Covid on the world. I can’t believe you’re this far behind!
Do you know what the USS Carney's role is?

China, which has a base in Yemen and would be very glad to see the US engaging in another issue. Both sides can play the "foment the locals" game.

It could but kalm posted "And/or they’ll be hardened through conflict like the Greatest gen was" which kind of assumes it and/or a conflict on the level of WWII has happened or is going to happen which is presumptuous.

What we're going through right now has more in common with the 2007/2008 economic crisis, the dot-com bubble bursting or the oil embargo of the 70's than it does with the Great Depression. The pain we're feeling right now is a fraction of what they felt during the Great Depression.
Wait until the ocean currents get further along in their shifting. :coffee:

Although so far southernmost Illinois seems to be a sweet spot - the range of our weather hasn't increased but the time that we get it and how much of it we get has. August this year was more like May temperature wise and April precip-wise - great if you aren't a farmer

I grew up in what was known as the Golden Triangle in Montana, because that area produced so much wheat. Right on the Eastern side of the Continental divide.

I thought farming was easy until I worked on my wife's family farm. The weather they got SUCKED. Couldn't believe how often harvest went past first snow.

They shift all the time. What we’re experiencing now is not done thing we’re accustomed to.

There was a news article today regarding the dissslpesrsnce of Alaska’s snow crab harvest. They’re not detecting migration they’re seeing evidence of massive numbers dying.

There was another recent article about the reverse gentrification of Florida property away from Oceanside to higher ground.

Not everything is directly related but currents play a huge roll in climate.

No major ones that I know of - the ones that worry them pointy-head science types are where the glacier runoff meets the salt water. Temp and salinity are factors in where the ocean currents set up

Fatass Austin sends another carrier group to Middle East. Sure looks like something bigger is on the horizon. It's either Syria or Iran is going to get the "treatment".

The tradewinds are winds

Surface Ocean currents are partially driven by wind yes

Also the rotation of the earth
Salinity
Seawater temp
Underwater conveyer belts
Welling

Very complicated subject as the more we know the more we don’t know

And Tubing Cubans know all they have to do is get into the Gulf Stream and they are home free and out of the communist socialist crap hole, hundreds of thousands have risked it all on inner tubes

Some of it, yes. Lot of money spent on pollution and environmental consequences that also could be spent on better things.

Many of the climate friendly initiatives you hear about are notihng but political dressing looking for votes, or private money grabbing schemes.

You must mean officers, the lower classes have always filled the enlisted ranks :coffee:
Not at all, great opportunity for enlisted as well. The gap between enlisted and Officers is very thin really, or at least it had gotten that way in one service at least
