The tipping point might have been that hostage rescue a few weeks back when it turned out they were holding hostages right in the middle of an established refugee area. Obviously there are no pure actors on either side in this, but it's also literally been Hamas's playbook for years to setup and hope for as many collateral casualties as possible to further the cause. Surprised it took this long for Palestinians to start questioning why the average Palestinian needs to be a human shield.

Biden's not had a good run of foreign policy in his only term and it's something that Harris will need to deal with in just a few short months of campaigning. We went down the road again of trying to play nicely with Iran and shunning Israel and others in the region and it backfired spectacularly. At a time when we need to be dealing with China and Russia we instead have been sucked back into this. We joke about Biden's health and it's great meme-fodder, but we're also seeing that others out there have noticed and have decided our leadership is asleep at the wheel. At some point we also need to deal with the Houthis and that Iran-backed disaster, but apparently that will have to wait too until sometime after next January.
