A future is only more likely if he isn't a good enough negotiator to pull it off. He's always telling people how great he is. It's time to put up or shut up and save millions of Ukrainian lives.
Wrong. Not the US’s job to save millions of Ukrainians lives anymore than it is the US’s job to save mass numbers of lives in any other country.

Senate Republicans deliver a message to Trump: Gaetz's confirmation is in jeopardy
Knowing how toxic a character they are dealing with, Senate Republicans are worried about getting tarnished by the process. They fear that senators up for reelection in 2026, including Sen. Thom Tillis (R-N.C.) could face a MAGA primary challenge if they oppose his nomination — while possibly kissing their seats goodbye in a general election if they back him.

It’s not just the politically vulnerable who are fretting. There’s a fear that Trump is going to waste precious political capital trying to push Gaetz through when he could instead be working on advancing other, more feasible nominations — not to mention his governing agenda. Consider, they say, just how distracting Gaetz confirmation hearings will be as Trump moves to dismantle Joe Biden’s regulatory and legislative legacy.
Will trump prioritize personal loyalty or what's best for the republican party long-term?

Nothing says leadership like ducking your responsibilities because they might make you look bad.

Recess appointments require the Senate to be in recess which will slow down implementation of the trump agenda.

No it won’t. The Senate is recess all the time (about 20 weeks of the year).

The recess needs to last 10+ days ... Justices rule for Congress in White House fight over recess appointments
The court majority concluded recess appointments would be valid if those breaks lasted 10 days or more.

Well if they’re in recess around 20 weeks a year I’m sure the avg is a couple of weeks.

Recess appointment.

Resorting to recess appointments to get through candidates who wouldn't be able to get through the nomination process are as much of an abdication of the Constitution as were the Dem plans to force into statehood PR and DC to stack the Senate and the plans they had to pack the Court. The Senate has the advise and consent role given to them in the Constitution - if Trump can't get some candidates through even a friendly Senate then the Senate shouldn't run away and not do their Constitutional duty. Recess appointments were for when it took a month by horse to get back to Washington. We can do better.
