The world’s most popular online pornography site says it’s pulling out of Florida.

Pornhub made the decision to disable access to its website in Florida once a new state law goes into effect in January. The law will require viewers of online pornography in Florida to first verify their age by uploading their “government identity documents” — such as a driver's license — to a third-party company for review.

Rather than comply, Pornhub announced that Floridians would be blocked from the site, excluding them from a worldwide audience that accounted for about 12 billion views in 2024.

“We don’t want minors accessing our site and think preventing that from happening is a good thing,” the site announced in a message directed at its Florida viewers. “But putting everybody’s privacy at risk won’t achieve that.”
