Is Trump truly this stupid or does he think his followers are this stupid?
The US president, Donald Trump, has made a number of at best controversial – and at worst outright false and misleading – statements about Ukraine and its president, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, while praising the progress made in US-Russia talks in Riyadh, S

On Ukraine’s responsibility for starting war
The facts: Russia’s invasion of Ukraine was unprovoked and widely condemned by the international community as an act of aggression.
...
Zelenskyy is deeply unpopular and blocking elections
The facts: While Zelenskyy’s popularity has declined since the start of the full-scale invasion, a February poll by the Kyiv International Institute of Sociology found that 57% of Ukrainians trusted the president, up from 52% in December.
...
US gives more aid to Ukraine than Europe
The facts: There are many numbers swirling around, with different methodologies used to calculate individual contributions.

The Kiel Institute for the World Economy’s Ukraine Support Tracker shows that Europe – counted as the sum of the EU and individual member states – has allocated €132.3bn (£109.6bn/$137.9bn) in help for Ukraine, ahead of €114.2bn from the US. It has also committed a further €115bn, according to the tracker.
...
The largest contributions as a percentage of GDP were made by Estonia and Denmark (2.5%), Lithuania (2.1%), Latvia (1.8%), Finland (1.3%), Sweden and Poland (1.2%).
...
Russia is not deploying its full military potential in Ukraine
The facts: Russia has unleashed the full force of its military – including missiles and long-range artillery – on Ukrainian cities, causing widespread destruction, particularly in the east.
...
Russia wants to stop the war
The facts: Russian officials, including President Vladimir Putin, have repeatedly stated they will not halt fighting in Ukraine until all of Moscow’s objectives are met – whether through diplomacy or military force.

No shit.

But make no mistake: just as France and Britain once closed their eyes to Hitler’s threat, we are now living in the early hours of a devastating conflict born of men too weak to stand for what is right.

It was Neville Chamberlain who gave appeasement its most infamous face. This weekend, we learned Chamberlain was a rookie.

For a genuinely catastrophic betrayal of the West, look no further than the staggering realignment ordered by Donald Trump this week. In just five days, America has become a client state of Russia, subservient, obedient, and just as accepting of the slaughter and evil for which Vladimir Putin is famous.

Somewhere down in hell, Hitler is wishing he’d had Trump to negotiate with in World War II. We would have dropped Fat Man on London, and Little Boy on Birmingham.

Wilson, Tim Miller, shit…even Bill Kristol get it. The bulwark YouTube channel is informative.

There are many former Republicans who avoided the cult. Dems need to listen to them more.

:suspicious: Rick Wilson is about as partisan and reliable as tucker, hannity, musk etc.

It might be accurate to say Chamberlain was a rookie compared to trump in a few years but as of right now that's partisan hyperbole.

You do know Wilson is a long time Republican, right? And while it’s hyperbole (it’s kind of his style-think shock jock meets conservative pundit) he’s been pretty damn accurate when it comes to Trump - and that’s going back 2015.

Immediately after the election, the Dems got skewered over the “hyperbole” of fascism and defending democracy. That may not have helped with the election (strategy vs. honesty) but it’s proving to be accurate.

So it’s now a pedo “group” ? That’s what they were all about? You mean similar to the countless Republican politicians, pundits, and preachers?

You must have a winning argument, continuing to go back to that well with zero introspection of your own party.

Hence my framing: “the movement”. We aren’t there yet and there are forces beyond MuskTrumps control that will be in play. But their movement is undeniably fascistic.

Zero cause for concern because Trump is doing this for Americans not the corporations. He is making things harder on them not the people.

Doesnt matter what you think anyway, its going to happen and we voted for it. Just like when Biden cheated and ruined the country for 4 years.
