Re: 3 Terms For President
Not going to happen. This isn't even news. The idea's been floated a zillion times since the '80s (and the party in the White House hasn't always mattered), and it's never gotten any traction. Heck, there was one guy from NY who tried to push this something like nine times. Washington set the example at two turns for very good reason. SMH....

SuperHornet's Athletics Hall of Fame includes Jacksonville State kicker Ashley Martin, the first girl to score in a Division I football game. She kicked 3 PATs in a 2001 game for J-State.

Republicans spent a lot of time and effort making sure that Obama wouldn't be able to have a third term - (that he would have won easily at the time). About 80% of the drivel leaking out of the convicted felons in the White House is trolling designed to divert your attention while they line their pockets. I hear crypto is making them a lot of money these daysSuperHornet wrote: ↑Thu Jan 23, 2025 9:15 pm Not going to happen. This isn't even news. The 2017 contract between CEFC and the Bidens paid Hunter Biden a lump sum of $500,000 and then a monthly fee of $100,000 and paid Jim Biden $65,000 per month. A Republican investigation in 2020 found that Hunter Biden’s company further transferred another $1.4 million to his uncle’s account. When Jim and Sara Biden were contacted by their bank about the transactions triggering a designation of possible criminal activity, rather than explain the activity, they shuttered the account

(Psst….i can honestly dig not liking Biden’s corruption but it runs rampant throughout our system including the politicians you DO like and support).
Maybe rant about fixing the system instead?

Re: 3 Terms For President
The vast majority of 2 term presidents would likely have won their 3rd term, if they were constitutionally allowed to run. W might be the only one in recent memory that wouldn't have. The power of the incumbency is tremendous and is one of the major reasons why the 22nd amendment exists. And since it is an amendment we're talking about, there is absolutely zero chance that any party has to pass an amendment to change this. I don't recall the GOP spending really any effort to stop Obama's 3rd term and the Dems today will also spend zero effort to stop Trump's 3rd term because neither is remotely possible. This isn't a news story of any merit and really should be ignored. Congress, especially the House, spends a good deal of time having singular members float any and all kinds of BS motions and almost none of them merit attention by anyone not in the room, and frankly probably not even by those folks.houndawg wrote: ↑Fri Jan 24, 2025 6:46 amRepublicans spent a lot of time and effort making sure that Obama wouldn't be able to have a third term - (that he would have won easily at the time). I don't know what "really any effort" means but there was substantial reflexive queefing from the convulsions by the hysterical right, nearly as much as when Obama wore a tan suitGannonFan wrote: ↑Fri Jan 24, 2025 10:08 amThe vast majority of 2 term presidents would likely have won their 3rd term, if they were constitutionally allowed to run. We need a guy fighting for America that cant be bought or manipulated like all politicians. I also love that Trump is saying it it the media, so the mentally ill liberals have to deal with that on top of their regular hate and violence. The cherry on top!

Re: 3 Terms For President
Trump will 5D his way into a third term. It'll be just like Project 2025 and we'll tell you that you are a Bluesky conspiracy theorist, and then on the first day of the new term, we implement the first 100 pages of Project 2025.
Next thing YOU know, he'll be POTUS for a third term and you'll be wanking your pud...still.

I was overly hopeful in the intelligence and good nature of the electorate writ large.
